It's not too early to start thinking about this special evening out. You may remember Mark Dawidziak from his lecture at Harmony in the House on his bio of American writer Jim Tully. Come see him and as he proudly proclaims, his much more talented wife, Sara, doing a performance of their collection of Poe stories and poems that night, along with an audience chat and book signing of his new book The Death and Life of Edgar Allen Poe. You won't want to miss this one

Had a good rehearsal with Clint Hoover and John Heid preparing for the Eddie Manion concert. John stepped right in with some nice 3 part and we are looking forward to this. Get online with The Strand Theater- pick your seat and get ready for a nice night of music.

Just a reminder... The Lonesome No More Trio will be opening for Eddie Manion and his fine band. However, since I last posted he has asked Clint Hoover and I to sit in on a couple of tunes so I have been busy learning some jazz chords with the help of Max Schang. So come out

FRIDAY 27th May 2022, The Strand Theater, 119 Main Street, Zelienople, PA

and enjoy an evening of tunes you will recall. We will be joined by John Heid on bass for this evening and are really looking forward to it. Eddie is expecting a sell out so start you Memorial Day weekend by following the little drummer boy to the

I would like you all to go visit the page of our friend and Harmony in the House piratical irregular Tom Mason. Tom has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and, as with so many of our musician friends, has the income he has sung and played for and god knows we never paid any of them enough to plan for times like these. I just ordered multiple copies of Under the Mistletoe Sky (rock blues Christmas album). Some of these will be gifts and some will be in the shop for sale. Any income from these will be "donations" as I am paying him up front and the money collected will be sent to him to help out. But please, check out his incredibly entertaining catalog, order some music, directly help someone in need of our love and care and bless the universe to help it heal too.

Well, fully vaxxed but still a masked man, it's time to get out of here and see if we can't make some music. Here's the upcoming as best I know it:

2nd June 2021 (I think start time is 7:00 PM) I'll be what Page Wilson would call doin' a "kitchen" swapping tunes with Bruce Hoffman & Jeff Wiley at the Penn Hills Coffee House 237 Jefferson Road, Penn Hills, PA. Free admission but we keep you there, locked in, until the tip jar is overflowing. BYOB (and be prepared to share)

5th June 2021 10:00 AM until Noon with Clint Hoover & Jared Negley Dennis McCurdy and the Lonesome No More Trio appears at the Slippery Rock Farmers Market. We look forward to seeing your shining faces but don't be sneezing at us... we're not there yet. And please, don't everyone bring us kale- be creative with your generosity.

Happy Saint Paddy’s Day

This song is based upon a story ably told by Bruce Hoffman one night in concert at Harmony in the House. The next day I was selling lps at a music festival at a whiskey distillery (not that that had anything to do with it) but I stole the story and started rhyming. Humbled by my theft and preferring not to betray our friendship, I then shared with Bruce Hoffman, who, with me and the assistance of bourbon in Louisville KY, completed it. Well, thought we completed it only to have Bruce Hoffman take it home and sand off the edges create a fancy tuning for hisself and then, 2 years later, we sat down to play it. If only all songs were this simple.
