✨Motivational Presence Coworking Sessions✨

First session is on Friday 10th November, 1pm-5pm

A coworking session that's also a safe space, in a charming cafe and metaphysical space at the edge of Vondelpark, Amsterdam. This isn't a corporate gig or intense startup vibe, it's a warm, welcoming space for anyone who needs a little company and motivation while doing some work, study, or even just the daunting admin. Open to Neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, Women, Disabled, or anyone who just feels a little bit on the outside and would like to come in :-)

Please make sure to register so I have and idea of how many to expect. It's free, and easy to cancel if you can't make it after all.

💡 Why "motivational presence"? It is a term I heard a friend use years ago to describe how she would get more done just by virtue of having their presence in the room but without them actively helping. Similar to "parallel play", a common term to describe how autistic people are often content doing some activity by themselves but in a room where someone else is doing the same. Many of us struggle to get things done by ourselves due to executive dysfunction, but also may not always be able to seek the right kind of company to motivate us.

Hello 😊 Welcome to my page! My name is Claire, and I wanted to write a little bit of an introduction to this project. As someone who faces near daily occurrences of marginalization, and through an endless struggle to find somewhere in the world I could fit in, I decided to stop looking for that place and start being that space for others. I decided to stop looking for work at places that fundamentally disapprove of me, and start offering my skills to others looking for acceptance and advocacy. Fed up of holding out for clinical care that understands me, I'm now offering the fruits of my lived experience as a guide to others locked out of the system.

When it comes to psychedelics, we are in an industry that has become saturated with privilege, and where the word "healing" has lost all meaning. I want to take the potential of microdosing to those too busy focusing on surviving and tackling oppressive systems to possibly relate to or reap the enigmatic prospers of healing culture.

In a way, I spotted a "gap in the market" for creating a "by us, for us" space. Except, it isn't a gap in the market, it's simply that the market prevails better without the annoyance of having to include us.

I want to use this space, not only to help others to find me and what I can do for them, but also as a platform to finally tell my story, a story deeply steeped in struggle and the paradoxical impossibility of being both alive and so unwelcome in life. It is the very complexities and vulnerabilities of stories like mine that keep us from finding our voice, but also that bring us together when that voice is found. 🌹

Very excited to finally be able to go live! 🎉 It's been a lot of work to make this happen, not just the many details involved in setting it up, but also the work involved in curating something unique and user friendly for those who need safe, accessible, relatable support and collaboration. I've been tinkering away on this through a year that has seen much bereavement, which both slowed down the process a lot and also gave me an opportunity to contemplate even more deeply the meaning and importance of the work that I want to do amidst the impermanence of life.

I am now taking bookings for neurodivergent supports, microdosing guidance, and you can also order microdosing supplies (depending on your location). I have regular and low cost options available, and a fair and clear guide on how to determine which category you fall into. Other services will be available soon - still loading!

🌦 I've spent the last few years weathering some of life's heaviest challenges, especially those of life and death, existentialism and fear, and what persistence and strength really mean. In the background, I've been tinkering away at rebuilding my business into one that allows me to not only share the tools and skills I've picked up along the way, but to bring them to those who need them the most.

🗓 Starting June 1st, I will be taking bookings for microdose coaching (after many requests!) as well as neurodivergent coaching and other supports. In addition, I will still be working as a designer and events specialist because I simply could never give those up (I have tried!).

💰 I will be offering regular and low cost coaching, to combat the fact that specialist services in both psychedelics and mental health are prohibitively expensive.

🏳️‍🌈🌍 I am also focused on offering my range of services to underrepresented communities who would prefer to work with someone like-minded, whether you are underprivileged and looking for coaching, or a minority running a business looking for a designer who will understand you, or you are a subculture group running events looking for expert guidance from someone who gets your vibe, there's sure to be something I can help you with.

🌄 It's been a long journey with many barriers to get here, and still a little way to go before I'm really up and running, but what I have to offer is all the richer for everything I've overcome. I am beyond excited to start connecting and working with people in a whole new way. 🌈

2012 - From the early days. This was a wedding dress commission from a lady who had bought a wedding dress and had it altered and she really hated it. She gave it to me and asked if I could salvage it, but ultimately we decided on a whole new dress. She was delighted with the result, but for me, looking back, there's a few things I would have done differently. I was very happy with this corset though, which is in ivory dupion silk which is luxuriously laced with wide satin ivory ribbon.

2014 - The Lost Art of Charm (Short). This was a short film written, directed and produced by staff and volunteers from the Dublin International Film Festival. We decided that there were enough of us who had training and aspirations in film that we could make a whole film crew, and it was a success! Pictured here is the poster, including a pair of shoes which I stayed up all night rhinestoning (before discovering quicker methods) which feature in a scene filmed in the old Liquor Rooms where our female lead is filmed at her heels as she walks through a crowded bar. This was my favourite film I ever worked on thanks to the creative freedom, the comraderie amongst colleagues who are friends, the respect, and the passion.

2015 - Chainmaille and Scalemaille Necklace. Scaillemaille is made with a similar technique to chainmaille, and it looks like traditional chainmaille from the back.

2016 - Miss Burlesque Ireland costume for Arlene Caffrey. This was her classic routine costume which has a sheer billowing circle skirt which is easily removable, and also removable rhinestone bra cups and a satin fully steel-boned rhinestone laced corset. That was the year Arlene (as La Petit Mort) was crowned Miss Burlesque Ireland! 🤩

2015 - Aerial costume for Kat Doherty. White satin dress with red skirt lining and built in red spandex shorts. It was designed to give the illusion that she is wearing a white dress, but when inverted it is a red dress.
