The lilacs have stayed on a long time this year. Thankfully there are so many varieties—early blooming to late blooming—and that stretches the season out. And then the weather this year has been helping a lot too. Lots of mild sunny days and no heavy rains. There was a period of three days with an ever-so light rain—almost a mist but heavier and constant. This is a dry prairie, so we needed it. It’s amazing to still seem them all over town.
