GOAL
To create a choral project that builds relationships between communities in Essex County by celebrating its rich past and demonstrating a vision for its promising future. BACKGROUND
Essex County has long been a metaphor for diversity both old and new. First generation immigrants from all over the world have made it their home for nearly 400 years. Its strength lies within its richness of cult
ures, languages, religions, and peoples that call it home. This historic event will bring the narrative of Essex County to life with choral selections sung by choirs from all over the County. Dr. Clement Price will narrate this event with excerpts from an array of writings and speeches by Essex County authors. FORMAT
Six choirs representing a variety of musical, generational and geographical diversity will present 10 minutes of music. These groups and other invited groups will join together for two selections on the program that represent the musical diversity of the choral participants. The six featured groups include:
