BTS: Manifest
Seven years ago we worked on location here in Orange County NY on a pilot for a show nobody knew about called "Manifest" for the NBC network.
The plane featured in the pilot episode was a charter plane, decorated on only one side for the cameras as it had to work the next day in its official role as the charter plane for a North Carolina college sports team and had to return to its normal markings before departing Stewart Airport.
The crew did an amazing job creating the illusions for this pivotal part of the show and turning the commercial hangers of Stewart International Airport in to the reunion center for this show.
Local hotels in Newburgh NY were used for Holding, HMU and Wardrobe with buses shuttling talent, crew and background actors to and from the airport for two days of filming of what would be the audience's first glimpse into this amazing story.

Easter Eggs!
On a recent stroll through the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC I had the opportunity to see one of the most famous Easter Eggs in prop culture history. This is the screen used model of the mother ship from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind".
This beautiful model was built with greebles from all sorts of model kits which was common practice for builders in the industry, but it had one secret that actually made it to the big screen - an Easter Egg added by it's build team.
If you study the model close enough and know what you are looking for it jumps right out at you. If you don't know what to look for, it blends in to all of the other small details the casual eye would miss. That is the beauty of an Easter Egg.

It has been a pleasure and our honor to have had a part in creating this dramatic tribute to our First Responders and to have an opportunity to pay tribute to those lost and those affected by the events of 9/11.
We at CPRNY wish you success as you prepare to share this moving and compelling tribute story with our First Responders and with all of the viewers.
We can not thank you enough for taking the time to research each time period and ensure that you made your environments and characters as real as possible for "Every Day Heroes" without falling into the cliche traps so many other story tellers do. The love, care and patience you have brought to this production truly shows and will be embraced by the audience.

Spending a solemn morning remembering friends, mentors and former colleagues while traveling through Washington DC. Although they may not walk this earth anymore, their spirit still lives on as does their sacrifice.
Visiting the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC for the first time was a very moving experience as I reconnected with so many memories of those whose names are etched on these walls.
They are not just names, they are heroes - each and every one.

Back on the Beat...
Turning a small part of the Hudson Valley into the rough streets of Delaware for this one.

Gearing up for a fun week ahead here in the shop as we sort through the shelves and draws prepping for a project. Although we can't mention the client, there is a Discovery awaiting in every corner of the shop!

A trip down memory lane - 8 years ago we were asked by our friends at Choice Films to be a part of a new series called "Big Dogs".
Big Dogs is a series based on the Adam Dunn novel series set in the dystopian landscape of NYC featuring our friends Manny Perez and Brett Cullen.
Little did we know as we filmed this in 2017 that this show would so accurately portray the landscape of NYC in the coming years.
The show was originally released on Amazon Prime, where it can still be watched as well as the Tubi service. With three other novels in the series, we are hopeful that additional seasons will be ordered.
A huge thank you to Tony and Summer and our Film Family at Choice Films for bringing us on board for this show and starting a relationship that is still growing stronger with each year!

We stand in solidarity with our heartbroken brothers and sisters in the NYPD as we mourn the senseless loss of a hero and four innocent lives last night.
Our prayers and deepest condolences are with all of the victims, their families, friends and coworkers.

It is the selfless sacrifice of so many heroes, such as Officer Islam, that we honor and we respect in all we do.
I have had the privilege and honor to have served and worked with so many heroes over the course of 25 years in my law enforcement career and it never gets easier saying "thank you for your sacrifice".
May all of the victims rest in eternal peace and light.
