Garba: Heritage in Motion ✨
Garba is not just a dance — it is a living memory of centuries, a rhythm of devotion, and a celebration of life itself.
The word "Garba" comes from the Sanskrit "Garbha" meaning womb, symbolizing creation and life. Traditionally performed around a clay pot with a lamp, it honors the feminine divinity of Goddess Shakti. The circular dance represents the cyclical nature of life — with the Goddess as the constant, unmoving center.
Dandiya Raas, once performed as a reenactment of Durga’s battle with Mahishasura, merged with Garba over time — bringing together men and women in a powerful, joyful expression of unity and devotion.
At its heart, Garba is more than music and movement. It is heritage, symbolism, and spirituality woven into every circle. This Navratri, as we dance in circles, may we feel the eternal connection to life, energy, and the divine Goddess.
