Several years ago, I decided that I wanted the focus of my business to be more about Connection. Connection with My People - the couples that choose to place themselves in my care - and Their Communities.
Most everyone is aware of the perception of "Wedding DJs", it's NOT a good one. My vision is to be different, with emphasis on My People feeling that they were taken care of when all is said and done.
I believe that the money invested to enter THIS room, to be challenged by the team that operates in it, alongside others who have similar goals to my own when it comes to the couples (and their communities) that we serve can only lead to stronger Connections in the end.
Silver MC (in my case, The Refresh) is history... Time to push a little further by going to the next level.
Time to roll up the sleeves...
Axe throwing at @rudysredeyewbl annual holiday party. Who knew? 🤷🏾♂️. 😊
The first of the @brackettscrossingweddings & @brackettscrossingcc member events for 2025.
Ballroom Beach Party commencing soon. 😊
As with several other things in Life, it takes a village to gain a measure of success.
To My Village: THANK YOU! 😊
Shout-Outs to the teams at Brackett's Crossing Country Club, Dellwood Country Club & The Jerome Event Center - it was a privilege and a pleasure to work alongside you multiple times this year. 🤝🏾

It's time for some BTB Shout-outs!
I was recently granted the honor of officiating Alyssa & Andy's wedding ceremony in Red Wing, MN. To say that I'm still feeling pretty sentimental about the experience (especially given feedback from the newlyweds after the fact) is an understatement.
With MANY well-wishes for the future of Their Love Story firmly in mind, it's time to acknowledge those who I got to work alongside.
Shelly, Kate, Liz & the ENTIRE team at the St. James Hotel:
What an AWESOME venue for a wedding. I can't even remember the last time I handled a wedding there, but this occasion didn't disappoint.
Shelly: Thank you for the communication leading up to the wedding. It was QUITE helpful to me once I was in the space and ready to set up. Knowledge Is Power and having it saved LOTS of time, since you'd already answered my questions before I left home for the event. 😊
Liz & Kate: your assistance and communication throughout the festivities is HIGHLY appreciated. It takes a village and I thank you for everything... Especially allowing me the freedom to do what was necessary in taking care of the newlyweds. 🤝🏾
Meagan of Meagan Kristin Photography:
My approach to the job involves attempting to make the experience a smooth one for the other WIPs that I'm working alongside. Thank you for your input and your patience throughout the day.
I've seen the preview gallery - GOOD STUFF! 👏🏾
Honorable Mention: My participation in the event wouldn't have happened if not for the referral of the Wicklunds, whose wedding I served as MC & DJ for in 2022. I think FONDLY of how we met and hope that Married Life is treating you both WELL. Thank you for the vote of confidence and spreading the word about yours truly & BTB!
I don't recall if he lasted to the very end of last night's reception, but this gentleman's energy couldn't be ignored even if I wanted to. 😊
While he didn't dance to everything, he danced to A LOT... At one point, my Inner Monolog (THAT'S a thing) said "I think he's my Spirit Animal." 😅
While not the most poignant of moments in an event with SEVERAL, it's indicative of what makes what I do Soul Food. 🥰
Kindred Spirit?

Melissa & Adam... I'm on my way.
I only caught the tail end of it last night, but this kind of thing has been happening at several of the weddings that I've handled at The Jerome Event Center so far this year. 🤔
CONGRATULATIONS to the Kriegs! 😊
It's been a few weeks since I last took care of a couple at The Jerome Event Center. It won't be long before this Mr. & Miss become Mr. & Mrs. 🥰
Elijah & Taylor, it's nearly time to have some Serious Fun. 😏
It's time for some BTB Weekly Shout-outs:
Mother Nature chose to give the newly married Berubes MUCH luck on their wedding day!
I was concerned that the ceremony would be forced inside: despite a few sprinkles during the last 10 minutes or so, Jauhn & Kali were able to have a picture perfect ceremony.
To Jauhn & Kali:
I appreciate you choosing me and BTB to be a part of Page One of this chapter of Your Love Story. Going back to the video clips that I captured of the day brought it all back... I hope that you're honeymoon was AWESOME! 😊
To Mason and the Round Lake Vineyards team:
THANK YOU for the hospitality, the service, collaborative spirit and your patience.
I can't do my job as "easily" without being allowed the freedom to execute The Plan as best I can, given the situation.
Also, Mason - you were a LIFE SAVER when it comes to having the backups that I didn't realize I needed until THE. LAST. MINUTE. I APPRECIATE you!
To Jessica of Jessica Sauck Photography:
It was a pleasure getting to work alongside you while taking care of the Berubes. Thank you for keeping communication open and being so easy to work with!
Seeing the shots that you've already shared from the event brings a smile to my face. 😊
Honorable Mentions:
North Star Farm Event Center: long story short - if not for your request to have the company that I used to subcontract for send me for events that they book, I wouldn't have met Jauhn by handling his brother's wedding. 😉

Thanks to 2024 being my first year working solely for myself, I've mostly been working in "social media silence."
I've made it no secret that keeping up with all of the rules of engagement is not something that I'm good at.
What am I good at? Instilling the type of confidence in venue representatives that get this type of feedback.
The job isn't to JUST instill confidence in the couples and clients that choose to place themselves in my care; giving other WIPs a reason to suggest me as a possible option for an event is just as valuable, if not more.
Tell me what quality of your favorite Wedding Industry Professional led to you choosing them for YOUR event (or recommending that someone else take a closer look) in the comments.
