Did someone say that it's ? Okay, then. That means that it's time for some BTB Shout-Outs. 😊

One of my recent weddings allowed me to revisit 7 Vines Vineyard and Winery Dellwood, MN. Mike & Madi came my way thanks to me being on the referral list.

Unfortunately, during our Final Walkthrough Meeting, Mike was under the weather and essentially quarantining himself in an effort to avoid passing his illness on to Madi. That act, in and of itself, was indicative of his thoughtrulness.

Listening to the officiants delve into the nature of Madi & Mike's relationship let me know a couple of things: Madi essentially revels in Mike's "quirks", actively participating in them. Mike ADORES Madi.

And I'm QUITE thankful that they chose me to be a part of their wedding celebration.

That thoughtfulness extended to me, as they checked in on me on a couple of occasions during their wedding celebration.

That will ALWAYS stand out to me when I think back on their reception.

THANK YOU for the assistance for the event, your patience (especially with me getting all of my gear packed up and loaded into my vehicle) and for the referral. I look forward to returning in October!

I have no problem admitting that I am QUITE new when it comes to officiating wedding ceremonies. Despite getting ordained SEVERAL years ago, I didn't really start leaning into it until last year (thanks to one of the couples that I took care of requesting that I do it for them).

I've found that I REALLY enjoy it (that might be an understatement).

In a few hours, I get to officiate Momoko & David's ceremony at one of my "houses."

Can anyone say "Soul Food?" 🥰

THE goal that I have when it comes to the business is NOT solely about a packed dance floor from the beginning of Open Dancing until the send-off of the Couple of Honor. Instead, it's to leave the couple that I'm serving feeling like they were cared for AND cared about by their Entertainment Guide.

That goal extends to Their Community. It also extends to the other WIPs (Wedding Industry Professionals) that I'm working alongside at these events.

At its heart, gaining the confidence and respect of the couple is PARAMOUNT; the longevity of the business ALSO requires that I be mindful to do what I can to gain the confidence of the other WIPs, too.

I wholeheartedly believe that my energy in celebrating the couples in my care helps set the tone for their communities to celebrate WITH me.

After all, if the individual that's addressing the crowd, guiding them through the festivities seems not to be feeling it, that crowd can tell.

Kailey & Devin's wedding at was FUN! 😊

After their send-off, Devin said that the reviews undersold what BTB offers. While I HIGHLY appreciate that sentiment, most everything that I do is a Work In Progress.

It's time for some BTB Shout-Outs!

One of the coolest things about being a Wedding Entertainer (Master of Ceremonies & DJ) is the fact that I get to meet some VERY cool people and be a part of one of the most poignant days in the lives of the couples that I take care of.

The Barskes got married on June 6th at the JX Venue in Stillwater, MN. I hadn't handled an event at JX in several years - the fact that I'd get to use the new rig in the space had me chomping at the bit!

During our consultation meeting, Maddy & Mitch mentioned a few things (paraphrased):
We're looking for our reception to have a club-like atmosphere.
We're interested in subwoofers (which I had JUST sold a week or two before our meeting - but I digress).
Our wedding coordinator HIGHLY recommended that we work with you.

While this vid doesn't do the actual party any justice, I think it's safe to say that you can see that they did enjoy themselves (Maddy even said that I pretty much kept the energy level for dancing at the peak that she was hoping for).

The speakers chosen for the event DEFINITELY brought the bass (in fact, I turned it down a bit so as not to overwhelm).

And I most definitely did enjoy working with their event coordinator (as ALWAYS).

To Cory and the rest of the JX Venue team:
Not gonna lie - the day was challenging for me thanks to my lower back issues. Cory, in particular, was AWESOME to work with on the day of the event. His attentiveness and helpful nature were HUGE. Honorable Mention goes to Emily for answering all of my questions when I reached out prior to the event. Knowledge Is POWER and understanding the House Rules before I even pull up to the venue gives me an extra advantage before I even leave the house.

To Rachel Graff Photography:
I STILL can't recall for sure if we've worked a wedding together prior to the Barskes' - if we did, I was DEFINITELY doing subcontract work at the time.

I appreciate the communication and the conversation. Having followed you on IG for as long as I have, I felt familiar with you even before I sent that first email to compare notes. I look forward to working alongside you again.

To the Bella Vida Catering Team:
Your team was AWESOME to work with and I REALLY appreciate their attentiveness that evening. It always makes my job easier when we're all communicating with each other in real time so that things run SMOOTHLY.

To Mrs. Kendra Simonis:
The fact that you referred me to the Barskes humbles me. I could say more, but I will do that the next time that we work together (if not in our communications prior to that point). Just know that I HIGHLY appreciate you!

MANY wedding entertainers/DJs focus their messaging on the party aspects of a wedding celebration. There's nothing wrong with that - believe me. There's no one doing this that DOESN'T believe that providing a "good" party is IMPORTANT.

After all, it IS part of the job. 😏

MY focus can be summed up by a couple of things that Alex said in his review -

"He was so easy to work with during the planning process and made the day fluid, smooth" & "he was approachable, adaptable and treated requests and the day with a sense of diligence and fun."

My goal is for you to feel comfortable and to trust that I've GOT you BEFORE the day arrives - and to understand how I prepare so that I CAN adapt, if necessary, as smoothly as possible.

Alex and Quinn... Thanks for the Trust and the review! 😊

It's Wedding Wednesday, you say?

I think that that means it's time for some BTB Shout-outs! 😁

Quinn & Alex found me thanks to CC Boyle Photography . Cece was the photographer at one of the weddings that I handled last year (and we discovered that she went to high school with my son - small world).

The conversations during the planning phase of their wedding celebration were fun and I REALLY enjoyed our Final Walkthrough Meeting.

JOY was THE word most used to describe their relationship on their wedding day - it was clear watching them together that they were living it.

Thank you both for placing yourselves in my care!

To Lora, Kathy & the crew at Elm Creek Park Reserve:

I can't stress how much attending the open house held the week prior to this wedding was for me. Kathy was SO patient when I was asking her questions at the open house: she and Lora were godsends on the day of the event.

I look forward to the next wedding I get to handle there!

For starters, thank you for the referrals! As you WELL know, small businesses survive through referrals.

Working with you was possibly easier than the first time. 😊

I've been WAY behind the 8-ball when it comes to acknowledging the couples that I've been taking care of so far this year and the WIPs that I've had the opportunity to work with along the way.

So... Let me start fixing that right now.

On April 19th at Stonebrooke Golf Club, the brand new rig went out on its inaugural wedding. The couple of honor - the newly married Mr. & Mrs. Hoffa.

Ryan & Mimmie -
I can't stress how much I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to take care of you and your community. To say that it was a fun outing is an understatement (and the pix posted here - taken by Little Mac Design on my behalf only show a glimmer of it).

It's my hope to see the two of you THRIVE moving forward. Keep those Show Tunes alive and well as you continue to live out Your Love Story.

Heidi and the Stonebrooke Golf Club team:
It's ALWAYS a privilege to be in your house. I've always appreciated just how much you accommodate my needs and allowed me to have the freedom I need to do what I believe is in the best interests of our shared charges. I will see you all again in October! 😊

I still haven't dug more into figuring out the last wedding that you and I worked together. This being the first one under my own banner, I now have a direct line to you.

My goal at EVERY wedding is to make things easier for the other WIPs that I get to work alongside on the day. I've literally wired my main rig to accommodate for videographers so that there's a relatively simple way for them to get audio for both the ceremonies that I provide audio support for, as well as the toasts.

It was a pleasure to work with you and I hope that I was at least as helpful to you as intended.
