I've been thinking about alterations. You might think that you only want to add or make a small change to your dress. Any additions or deletions you make to your dress is a big deal primarily because once they are done there is no going back Always research what you think you might want done. That sexy little slit to your dress might be something you are serious about. Once you start researching the slits on other dresses you will notice where the slit falls on your leg. The position could be dead centre or more to the side on your leg. Does the slit has top stitching etc. My other observation is "how high is too high". When you sit down that slit will probably creep up higher. Request to speak directly to the seamstress and have the alterations estimate in writing. Make sure you clearly communicate what you want to have done and that there is a meeting of the minds. Ask around to friends and family who they have used for their alterations or if they can recommend someone. Price is always a factor, but the quality of their work should be the deciding factor. If possible I would want to see some of their altered garments and check the seams etc.
just my opinion miss Jude
