Kurt Owen, AKA KOEXIST, began his journey as a DJ and musician for nearly a decade before deciding to start the KOEXIST project in 2021. It is the idea that music can spiritually transform us all into the greatest versions of ourselves. It is the idea of bringing people together peacefully in the way that only music can. It is the idea that we can elevate our consciousness through the immensely po
sitive power of music. KOEXIST aims to leave us changed to become better people in our lives and communities through the power of shared musical experiences
His debut album, KOEXISTENCE, goes live on September 18, 2021, and includes a colorful and diverse range of sonic qualities that are sure to take the listener on a journey.

Back when I was going through a particularly challenging battle with my own mental health, someone suggested that I go and watch the sunset more often. So I did. And during those sunsets I witnessed a beautiful healing of my own heart by the rainbow of natural colors displayed every evening in the sky. I wrote these songs with those meditative moments watching the sunset in mind. I hope that these songs accompany you where ever you find yourself on your own healing journey.

So halfway through finishing my album I moved into a new place which was pretty jarring because I had become so accustomed to the acoustics of my old room, but I’m really grateful to be in my new spot especially now that I’ve been able to acoustically treat the room, install some vibey lights, and really settle into the new space. Where I’m sitting now is where I finished my latest single Nobody, as well as the rest of the songs on my upcoming album.
