Recently Tony Khan went on a Twitter meltdown reported by dirt sheets that eventually got so big it even made itself onto Forbes.
According to Tony Khan there's a certain section of online bots hired by rival promotion WWE to smear AEW leading to bad sales and brand warfare.
Whether that is true or not hasn't seen concrete evidence but a lot of the ex WWE producers, writers and talent have taken to YouTube every week to criticise AEW.
Jim Cornette,Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff in particular have made thousand videos in such smear campaigns.
Even in Wembley pre show there were negative/trolling comments like these that lend credence to mr Tony Khan's statement.

Paul Heyman revealed that in 2009, he was offered a head executive position within TNA wrestling by the then network hosting TNA…Spike TV. According to Heyman, “It came real close with TNA.“
"Youth,Youth,Youth & Youth"
Heyman said he had a 5 year plan in place to take TNA to brand new heights. It involved shaping the roster with getting rid of unbalanced contracts signed by veteran talent over 40 years old, bringing in new, younger wrestlers around the independent scene that were perhaps relatively unknown.
The infamous mainevent mafia storyline made headlines when the Legends shut down all the young wrestlers to the X division and established a monopoly on the world title scene with the youth whose loyal to them aka AJ Styles being the sole wrestler who was World Champion for a time. But the storyline was basically the heel legends using youth wrestlers as Pawns against the youth pawns of other legends.
The next 18 months would be slowly building around that young talent and making them more recognizable to their audience.

At first I thought Nick Wayne's push came a bit soon. His debut match was great but odd. His body language and physique isn't where it should be especially compared to the traditional wrestler physique.
But after watching some of his Indy matches especially Nick Wayne vs Callum Newman and Will Ospreay, in my opinion he's the perfect fit for what All Elite Wrestling is looking for.
A style inspired by Will Ospreay who himself was inspired by the Dynamite Kid but more so by the infamous Tiger Mask 1 Satoru Sayama who had a 5 star classic with aforementioned Dynamite Kid in their bout number 4.
While classic critics especially Jim Cornette have scathed Nick Wayne,Osprey and Omega for their athleticism as aggressive parkour it seems to get some strong reactions from the crowd.
With the right amount of push and development Nick Wayne can turn into one of the young pillars AEW is currently in the process of forming. In ring chemistry wise he's a perfect fit for the ultra athletic roster AEW is forming.

If WWE does get him full time this is potentially a Hulk Hogan level signing. In many ways Logan is a modern day Hulk Hogan.
But can they strike a balance between him appearing on regular TV weekly or even monthly and having a safe match without getting injured ?

"You walk in the locker room and he helps with production, he helps with, you know, helping write for people that can't do it for themselves. He goes and supports — and you see him going through like what camera angles to take. He's 20 some years old. You don't find that very often. To have that understanding, I'm like, 'Where the hell do you get this from? 'And it's just him. He pays attention and he understands that it's not just about him. If he wanted to take it, ain't nobody that can stop him. There's nobody there that can stop him. He's an unbelievable kid."

If AEW does survive past this decade which currently given the state of its ratings it doesn't look like it will then MJF will still be its ace and a producer of the show. He might become a generational wrestler just like the Orton family and WWE.

Logan Paul is an under 30 super athletic superstar and it looks like he's set to become the US champion in a few months time. But is he really worthy? Sure he had 2 fantastic matches with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins but they were all orchestrated by Shawn Michaels. He is still untrained. In both his matches he got injured and shelved for months on end. He is a draw ratings wise he's the perfect Hollywood celebrity as wrestler for the WWE model. But what good is a champion that has a match for a day only to get shelved for the rest of the year? Especially in the hyper competitive WWE weekly TV show formats.

Very true.
Apart from the fun and games, the meme does have a point. WWE wastes developed talent on a rookie show and AEW pushes rookie talent on their main show.
Guys like Dani Garcia,Nick Wayne,Dante Martin,Action Andretti and Jack Perry seriously need to bulk up and hit the gym if they want to be taken seriously as pro wrestlers.

From WCW to TNA to AEW Dynamite.
Thank you Sting.
This should be his final goodbye to in ring work but as a producer/storyline writer he can still make some magic happen for AEW.

WWE is too big and perfect to lose.
They have an overabundance of stars talent and system. Currently it feels like if one top guy or gal leaves they can have anyone step in from NXT or Performance centre and take their place. Forget AEW vs NXT. At this point WWE is almost like Hollywood. The wrestlers are the actors. Raw NXT Smackdown are the studios and anyone can come in to act out the scripts and stories. WWE is probably going strong till the end of the century. It has no competition on its level. At best TK and the others in AEW can hope to best its C brand.

Everyone is all Elite but what storylines have AEW produced from it ? They have arguably the best roster any Booker, promoter and writer can have from the Elite to Chris Jericho to Edge and Christian Cage being the best heels currently alive. But what stars have been made around them? Nick Wayne still looks like a Pogo stick. Wheeler Yuta is still a jobber. Sammy Guevara still isn't anywhere near his pillar title. Jack Perry hasn't been on TV for months.
The only young pillars who've made something of themselves are Takesh*ta,Darby and MJF. They've done so by actively rejecting the titles. If they are signing Ibushi atleast give us a Ibushi vs Andrade or Ibushi vs Christian feud. So far it seems like they're only doing feuds with guys who know each other.

15/10/2023

Christian Cage is the best heel in the industry. No other heel from WWE,NJPW,AEW,ROH,Impact or the indie scene has this level of competence.
The only flaws with him are the people around him. Such a heel can make a wrestler with the right tools(physique, charisma, skill, promo, technicality, character work etc.) into an instant ⭐.
But the wrestlers he's been given to work with are complete nothing burgers or rookies.
4 years ago when Luchasaurus joined Christian and Jack Perry he was an enforcer. All these years and Christian's superstar studed rubs later he's still the same character with 0 change other than he's slightly older.
Jack Perry even after getting betrayed by Christian couldn't become the face of AEW and Tony Khan wanted him to be vs his fellow 4 pillar rivals especially MJF. He got more character growth from losing to MJF,Betraying Hook and changing his gimmick than he ever did by getting betrayed by Christian Cage.
And now again with an 18 year old Rookie like Nick Wayne it's really starting to seem like AEW and Tony Khan are clueless about which wrestlers of his roster can actually hang with the best heel in the business rather than make him a certified nanny for any under 30 wrestler.
If some AEW originals/foreign/indie established guys like Jay White,Juice Robinson,Andrade,Hook,Miro,Malakai Black,Buddy Matthews,Brian Cage,Ricky Starks,Hobbs etc. Were in this Same spot where Jack,Luchasaurus and now Nick Wayne stand they'd be Megastars by now.

Despite having Edge and all that star power Tony Khan learned the most important lesson early on. A lesson Dixie Carter and TNA learned much later. The wrestling business isn't about having the most valuable wrestling stars in your company it's about making the most valuable wrestling stars and storylines on your own show. The show did get a loud pop and cheers from the crowd for about 48 years but later on the ratings went right where they were before Edge came onboard.
