When we have ideas, we bring them to the attention of our clients, and when we get the go ahead, we run with it. In this case, our clients were amazing and completely trusted the process, allowing us to bring the idea to fruition.

After drawing out the idea, describing the font style in my head 😉 and reviewing measurements between vendors (multiple times to ensure success), the table numbers were laid onto the serpentine tables that were pushed together to create extra large round tables.

This centerpiece style joined with another edgy long table version, was specific in color and material to coordinate with, not match, the tunnel at the start of Cocktail Hour.

Happy Anniversary to this classic, elegant couple. As one of our high profile clients, they only wanted a solo team of me, myself and I 😉, so running a 300 guest count, large vendor count, and big wedding parties on a 100 degree day was not for the faint of heart, but you KNOW I did it with a smile 😁and it was amazing.

We began with a gorgeous church ceremony and then moved over to an indoor reception, followed by an outdoor later reception (when it cooled down) and after party with a band that ROCKED it.

Year after year, as we wish our clients Happy Anniversary, we are reminded of just how blessed we are to be able to help you have one of the best days of your entire lives 🙏

It truly takes a village. While you usually only see the end result, or lately you’ve been seeing some of people giving direction to others, this video that captured exemplifies the true PARTNERSHIP it takes to get the best result physically and mentally. What I mean by the latter is that at the end of the day people leave their job happy or unhappy, and the creative result is only part of it. How did you make them FEEL is overlooked so often, but is unique in more than just design. At the end of the day (and night!), we want EVERYONE to be smiling 😁.

The difference in asking how many events a Planner takes on vs works that day is finding out how many events they have their team working that day too. If their team has a question, the Planner has to answer for the other event as well, and they’re checking in on the other event either way. If there are multiple events in one day, the focus is less and less on YOUR event.

Ask the questions that matter. You’ll find that your automatic first question about price will matter less and less…

Our goal was to make sure this didn’t look “Valentine’s” (We often have goals from the client after creating color schemes for them, from not allowing it to look “Joker” or “Christmas” or “4th of July.”).

Creating a romantic backdrop for this special couple, you better believe we had additional goals 😉

We needed the look to be a statement without being overwhelming, to be indoors but have a brightness to it and not say, “downstairs in a hotel,” and have a bit of whimsy for this ice skating bride ⛸️….

And you know what? They deserved to walk a pink carpet 😉

With so many posts about couples and parents so stressed planning their events, how about one to RELIEVE that stress?!
When you work with an experienced Planner, you don’t have to worry about the “not knowing” stress that people fear (“I just don’t know if I’m missing anything.”), or wondering how you’re going to plan AND keep your job (because you know you don’t realize how many hours it takes until you’re IN it).

Don’t you want it to be fun?
Call me crazy 😜 but we think it should be and that you deserve that.

We have never offered Day Of Coordination, reason being because I don’t believe you can go into a wedding and do a great job without knowing the client or the vendors. And I won’t do anything unless I’m doing it right. And we only offer Month Of and Partial for weddings - all other events only Full Planning.
Full Planning is what we are known for. It allows for the creativity and vision to be presented and then to come alive. AND WE LOVE IT ❤️

We will never be the cheapest, and we have zero desire to be. We will never say yes to a job that we won’t execute beautifully. We will not value money over respect, appreciation and creativity.

⭐️As the Owner of STC, I have decided to limit Month Of.
We will be providing Month Of Coordination services to referrals and those who we have a strong connection with.

REASONS WHY:
* Being brought in to “round everyone up” in the final months of planning is much more challenging with a multitude of personalities and power trips (Yep - I said it). Suddenly an experienced Planner is brought into the mix and vendors advising a client this is what they should do with their timeline isn’t part of the deal anymore. Now it’s the Planner and the Vendor discussing, and the Planner may have different thoughts (And discussion is great!).
* A client books all of their vendors, and on the day of the Planner is expected to make sure everyone does their job perfectly. No matter what happens, and even though it isn’t right, that’s what happens. Even though the Planner didn’t choose or book those vendors, and they might have zero experience with weddings, it still ends up falling on the Planner in the client’s eyes.
* With how many people are just deciding to add coordination into their service offerings, and doing so without experience, it affects everyone in that category, from reputation to pricing.
* We want to do more of what we love - creating deep relationships with our clients, booking amazing teams of vendors who are great people and do incredible work, and showcasing never before seen work.

Education is key. If you start out saying, “I want to spend x amount for this event category,” you may be setting yourself up for failure. What if you could spend less for what you’re looking for? Or what if you won’t get the results you’re expecting because the level of investment is way off? I see this ALL the time in FB groups and in discussions about events. Let’s change the discussion and do things right. I’m a big believer in, “If you’re going to do something, do it right.” Make it EPIC. Make it ORIGINAL. Make it YOU. ⭐️

You want a “normal” event, you go to another Planner or you do it yourself. What’s the difference between an Event Planner and a Party Planner?
Make sure you’re going to the right type of business! If you go to a Party Planner for a wedding…I’ll leave it right there. And if you go to an Event or Wedding Planner for a 5th birthday party, good luck with your budget 😂 😜, and it’s just done differently! Each has its expertise and that’s a beautiful thing ❤️

Smiling Through Chaos was created to help you celebrate life, and with a smile 😁.

How often do we have beautiful photos taken with our family and friends celebrating the most special moments of our lives? NOT often. Once we start removing those opportunities from our lives, as we get older, we are no longer able to remember the moments as well without photos to bring it all back. And what means more than celebrating with the people we love most in the world?

We will not get these moments back. Our parents will grow older. Our kids will grow taller (and in the blink of an eye they’ll be teenagers). Suddenly someone we love has a health condition. Our friends move away. CHERISH the moments and CELEBRATE the wins, the goals achieved, the marriages and mitzvahs, the anniversaries, the milestone birthdays…celebrate it ALL.
