Well, hello, it's been a while. I've really struggled with social media over the last six months, spending time creating posts, and then they get no engagement, and it's all rather disheartening then you don't post and the algorithm hates you. Anyway, I feel renewed despite being knocked out the last three weeks with flu. It's that time of year when Mariah breaks into song, Buble appears from Asdas cupboard and I bombard you with christmas wreath spam. BIG OR SMALL . . . .
March meet the maker, day 14, big or small, it's up to you. If you prefer smaller bouquets that's great, or if you like larger bouquets, then go for it. Choose what you love not necessarily what the latest trend is.

If you would like loads of flowers at your wedding or just a few items then it is up to you. I love creating bigger designs like this urn and I equally love creating a small buttonhole 🌿

RECHARGE, DAY 10

Missed a few March Meet the Maker days and International Womens Day but I was spending a wonderful few days with my mam and sister and also a new wheel bearing on the car, not so wonderful!! I always do find time to recharge, not always easy when it's the run up to a wedding as its so busy but it's nice to take time to stop and take time and switch off, for me it's going for a walk, reading a book or finding something creative to do.

Day 7 LEARN . . . . .
When I retrained as a florist after redundancy, I was inspired by the change of career because of this bouquet, my wedding bouquet. It was my first ever try, and I loved creating it, I know I have improved my knowledge and skills greatly since this day. I continue to learn new skills and change how I make some items without floral foam which I hope makes me a better florist 🌿

A bit late to the party, but I'm going to try and take part in March Meet the Maker this year. Anyway, here's me, Suzanne, owner and florist at Flowers from the Mill. I love my job and love creating couples wedding flowers, hate having my photo taken. When I'm not flowering up weddings, I'm kept very busy by my little one! I feel very fortunate to be able to have the flexibility to work from home and do something that I love. 🌿

That's it for me for 2022! Thank you to all of my customers and lovely couples who chose me as their florist, I'm not even going to say anything about 2023 because who knows what's going to happen, for now I'm going to enjoy relaxing over Christmas. I do hope everyone has a gentle and kind Christmas 🎅🎄 🌟

I just love receiving the professional photos from a wedding, and what amazing photos they are from Throwback to Antonia and Matthews wedding in August, I loved the colours of this wedding and loved working with this brief, Antonia liked an Italian style vibe wedding. There are many ways to use your arrangements more than once if they can be moved easily and safely. The registrars arrangement was repurposed for the top table and bridesmaid bouquets were placed in vases for the guest tables at the reception. I also placed olive foliage along the tables, the rest of the beautiful styling was by the lovely bride. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed creating these flowers.

One of the bouquets from this summers weddings. Six weeks holidays are nearly over, what a juggle it's been, five weddings, one weeks camping and much toddler wrangling! But feeling very lucky to have a busy and full summer holidays. Its been great to see such lovely couples celebrating their weddings and we definitely need some good things at the moment. I'm having a few days off with my family but first of all I'm off to buy that new kettle that'll help with our energy bills this winter 🙄

Flowers from Rachel and Noahs wedding at Newton Hall, a lovely mix of whites, greens with a touch of silver. I'm trying to be foam free so the table decoration is completely foam free, which I'm quite proud of.

Sneak peak at yesterday's wedding flowers for Antonia and Matthew, loved these colours for their wedding with Italian vibes. Today I'm going to do the the less glamourous side of wedding flowers, by sorting out my workshop and cleaning buckets, might treat myself to a nice coffee to start the day though.

A bouquet made of flowers and foliage picked from the garden, I had some very sad news last weekend about the death of an old friend and work colleague, I hadn't seen him for probably about 20 years but he's been in my thoughts this week and the tough time he's had, remembering the cracking work shifts with him full of laughter and the nights out on the Tuxedo Royale after work dancing away on the revolving dance floor, if you know, you know!! Anyway these flowers are for you my old friend, you'll be sadly missed by all who knew you Mr Gallagher

SUMMER SOLSTICE . . . .

The longest day of the year, I'm really enjoying the long days and the light nights to enjoy the garden, I love being able to go out and pick some cut flowers for the house. An arrangement like this in a glass vase is a great example of foam free floristry, perfect for your wedding day.
