Late post of this incredible day. This was the day of the incredible storm that knocked power out across the province.

But this couple had lady luck on their side bc the day turned out just as bright and sunny as their incredible sunset palette!

Working on the bride's whimsical and wild vision was an honour! So happy that we could create the day of their dreams!

This summer, I attempted to grow flowers from seed. Out of the 5 or so varieties, only 1 variety (albeit in many colours) flourished. My green thumb seems to be limited to arranging flowers and not growing them 😬 I guess I'll stick to what I'm good at ;)

But here's the last of the zinnias from the flower bed 🥰

Now that we're in Phase 2, intimate parties in a covid era can still be personalized and great!

Today's featured event was based on a Trader Joe's fresh market theme 🍞🧀🥩🥗

This fan favourite stop just south of the border garners a list of highly recommend grocery staples! From cookie butter spread to the "Everything but the bagel" seasoning, this gathering boasted an incredible menu inspired by none other than the coveted Trader Joe must haves!

🎈 P A R T Y H A C K S 🎈

With no other choice but to have quarantine parties, it's hard to feel creative. But whether there's a couple guests or a lot, a couple of easy decorations can make such s big difference!

One easy technique that I always recommend that can spruce up a table (without the cost) is to use wrapping paper with an awesome pattern as a table runner!

* Cover the table with neutral or coordinating coloured linen
* Top with your chosen wrapping paper

Voila! You'll have an awesome backdrop for your cake, table setting, and more!

Yesterday I treated myself to a virtual workshop by one of my favourite florists in partnership with the 🌿

Was so fun to try something new and work with these beautiful local varieties! While it wasn't the same as attending an in person workshop, it was still pretty awesome!

Becky is such a great teacher, and is so talented, I highly recommend her workshops!

So, we had this sign ready out front to make it easier to find us, and then the wind said, "I don't think so! Not today!" So we had to bring it in to the garage ☹️

🌿 F L O W E R C A R E 🌿

Here are some tips to make your flowers last!

💦 Keep water fresh. You can simply put the vase up to a faucet and flush the water through until it's clear. Clear water is the best water for fresh cut flowers.

🌿 Remove any leaves that fall under the water as they will become soft, begin to rot, and contaminate your water and other stems.

🥀 Remove individual stems as they begin to wilt, fall or die. This will avoid any water contamination and keep your bouquet looking fresh.

☀️ One last reminder! Your flowers will last the longest in a cool environment away from direct sunlight. Don't want them cooking under the hot sun.

As an event floral designer, you operate a little differently than a brick and mortar store.

Customers put their trust in your style, artistry and design savvy bc they can't take a look in a cooler to see what's available. And because you don't have a stream of customers coming in every day, you might not carry as much inventory until you need it.

Before every event, we are so thankful that our customers put their trust in us to create gorgeous blooms! Under any condition, we figure it out and deliver!

This week, we almost had a close call with our ceramic vases. The order we placed ended up being out of stock 😳 So we shifted gears and upgraded to the larger vases to make sure that we delivered for our clients! So good news to all the ceramic face vase orders, you've got a F R E E U P G R A D E to the next size up!

Life will always put obstacles in your way, but we've got this! It always ends up better 🌿

As an event planner and stylist, I always try to get to know my couples so that I can infuse their tastes, personality and uniqueness within the event. My goal is to always design an experience that makes them feel like every ounce of the day is a direct representation of them and their relationship.

For this weekend's couple, there were so many beautifully personalized touches. From tailoring the backdrop draping to match the lines of the bride's personalized engagement ring setting to incorporating a glass cloche with a single rose symbolic to how the groom proposed to his bride 🌹, this event overflowed with so many personalized touches.

In terms of the styling, we knew the bride would be wearing an elaborate red outfit with gorgeous gold embellishments. So we kept the backdrop as an elegant gold and cream palette to create a wow factor while also allowing the bride to stand out. Then, to tie it all together, we added romantic florals in red, burgundy, mustard and cream tones.

Such an honour to create such a beautiful and romantic vibe for this wonderful couple'a Nikkah.
