I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone! My name is Thomas Villetto and I've been a chef my entire life. I've had the privilege of being able to train in some of the best restaurants in the world, including Thomas Keller's 3 Michelin Star "Per Se" in NYC. For several years in Massachusetts, I've ran an award-winning restaurant specializing in true farm to table dining. My menu changed weekly. We only used vegetables from local farms, my herbs were grown in my backyard, and my eggs came from neighbor's chickens. Our fish was sustainable and are beef came from the best ranches. With all the horrible GMO's, steroids, and chemicals in today's foods, I'm really passionate about what we put into our bodies. And that we, as consumers, should be able to know what we are eating. And we as chefs, can be proud to serve you healthy organically responsibly raised food.
I've worked the last three years here as an Executive Chef. I've had a lot of fun and worked at some tremendous (and big) restaurants. With that in mind, I've now wanted to get back to the roots of what makes me excited as a Chef, to cook for the individual. Having said that I've started, A Touch of Salt Catering, with the focus of brining locally sourced product back to the individual. We've already made partners with many local businesses and purveyors and will continue to do so. We want to support local businesses as much as possible who have the same vision as we do. I've went and hired some of the finest chefs I've worked with over the last 10 years to help make this dream a reality. We hope you come along for the ride!
A Touch of Salt will provide tasting menus, plated dinners, banquet style dinners, family style dinners, passed Hor d'oeuvres, chefs by the hour, day, or week, wedding catering and so much more. Everything will focus on great local produce, seasonal fish, and freshly baked breads and desserts. We hope we can become a valued part of the Sarasota community and hope to work with many of you in the future!
