🧐Research & Development!🔬

is by far one of Canada’s most inspiring experiential culinary journeys. 🌲

In order to celebrate 30 years of blowing people’s minds and palates, the wild genius Chef Michael Statdlander created the Living the Dream Project from mid August till the last weekend of September. 🧑‍🍳

Consisting of a 12-course moveable feast inspired and cultivated from the wild bounty of the farm along with sculptures and installations 🧑‍🎨, this 6-hour eating and bring-your-own-wine walkabout was nothing short of spectacular. 🌳

It was a joy to share this experience with Zach and Luhana Littlejohn littlejohnfarm who are also making their own similar agri-tourism dreams come true!💚

Cheers and congrats to the Eigensinn Farm on 30 years of creating all-encompassing food magic!✨

And an extra kudos wine nod to and for having the perfect selection of imported vinos 🇫🇷 🇮🇹 to pair with this epic experience! 🍷🍾

An apple ask-me-anything
by Gold & Fife Founder, Natalie Goldenberg-Fife 🖊️, for magazine. 🏔️

With degrees in marine biology and horticulture, Martha Lowry is that genius-level version of smart. And she loves to share her knowledge, so asked a few apple- and cider-related questions.

🍏 The real star of this story is the apple. Why are apples so cool and where did they come from?

The history of apples begins in Kazakhstan where they grew wild and native. They began to be introduced along the trade routes where they were picked up and passed along. What’s super-cool about apples is they have more genes than humans.🧬

🍎Under the Apple Tree: The serendipitous “in-cider” story of Spy Cider House and Distillery

📖Read about how two folks with zero hospitality or distilling experience ended up with becoming the new owners of The Blue Mountain’s Spy Cider House and Distillery: a 3,000-square-foot production space, four-season patio, acres of organic orchards, a two-storey consumer-facing retail shop and tasting room, six 12,000-litre fermentation tanks (some filled with juice), a 12,000-litre carbonation/brite tank, glycol temperature-controlled tanks, and more—while also acquiring one of Canada’s best-established female distillers, Martha Lowry.
