I received a couple of messages recently from brides that had just been proposed to and have no idea where to start with their wedding planning and were feeling very overwhelmed.. so here’s a bit of unsolicited advice from someone who isn’t a wedding planner, but has been filming weddings for 11 years and has attended probably around 300+ weddings (honestly I’ve lost count!)

Just enjoy this time! Celebrate the bubble. And when the time comes, really really think about what it is you want out of your wedding day. There’s no right or wrong. You’ve got this 🤍🫶🏻

Oh and yes that is me struggling on a walk at 39 weeks pregnant 🫠

Farbridge is one of those venues that is honestly so breathtaking. There’s something about those views of the South Downs that makes you feel like you’re a million miles away from reality! I just love it every time I get to return for more and more glorious weddings 🤍

Grateful to have had an amazing 2024. The first year I created a vision board at the start of the year and some of it (the biggest of them all!) came true.
I may not have quite started my roller blading journey (lol but come on that’s a pregnancy hazard!) but it was the year I put time aside for myself and for having fun with friends and family after a lot of grafting for the business after Covid.

2025 is the year all about balance as we head into the year and month we meet our daughter! 🩷

I can’t help but smile every time I watch this trailer for L+C! I knew I had to make theirs fun just like the two of them and their day!
.
They made their day completely their own. I remember trying to phone Laura the day before the wedding to quickly touch base and she said she was so busy at the venue sorting bits out herself! Their day was well and truly them and they did absolutely everything themselves.
.
It just goes to show what you can achieve doing everything yourself and seeing all your hard work completely pay off. Nothing but smiles all day long from these two ❤️

A highlight for me was after the church ceremony the happy couple walking over to their local cricket club where their reception was held leading the way for all their guests!

It’s not just about the perfect lighting and couple portraits. I do love the couple portraits of course! But it’s the in between moments and the unexpected that I love to capture. The reception is actually one of my favourite parts to film!

I’m hoping it’s quite clear from my work what mine could be, but when filming a wedding and even when I’m editing and piecing the footage all together I’m constantly trying to stick to my true self and portray the day as genuine and real as possible.

I’m not one of these posey, fashion, slo mo videographers. I want to show raw emotion and realness from your weddings.
.
Don’t get me wrong I love playing around and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. And sometimes if I see something that would just be epic, then I’m going to make suggestions! But there’s a time and place always. I never want to take away from the authenticity of your wedding day.

When I saw todays prompt I knew straight away which ceremony snippet I was going to share from this years weddings! Made so uniquely personal, funny and creative by the fabulous celebrant @notthatoliviacoleman. I’ve been lucky enough to work with her a few times this year and I hope there’ll be many more in the future.

Celebrants can really make your ceremony such a personal experience and sometimes can feel like a friend is up there with you - making it less daunting!
.
But however you choose to do your ceremony, try to think of ways you can make it that bit more personal and unique. Maybe it’s a handwritten poem from a family member or maybe you want to write your own personal vows. Maybe you’re sacking off a ceremony completely and eloping and just reading promises to one another!

Resurfacing this little reel I made with one of my favourite weddings. It may have been a wet one but it remains firmly in my archive of unforgettable weddings.

It’s not every day I travel down to Cornwall for a wedding. Of course I love shooting in different locations and travelling all over the world in theory! But it can be a logistical nightmare sometimes and not something I can always do, depending on commitments either side. But when I heard about Jess and Laurie’s plans for their day I envisioned a glorious Summers day on a Cornish beach. We all did! But the Great British weather had other ideas of course!

It didn’t matter though. We may have been a bit soggier but my god I will remember this wedding forever ❤️
