Feast your ears on some gorgeous acid-tinged house music on the latest High Hoops latest podcast from long time pal of ours, DJ Heartbreak.

DJ Heartbreak is a long-time Berlin resident, but originally from squalid Northern UK roots. He’s an obsessive record digger, DJ and music writer who is equally adept at playing tops off pumpers as he is playing Autechre to a crowd of 5 with the lights off. Outside of the club, he hosts a bi-monthly show “Enter the Freakzone” at Refuge Worldwide exploring dub, experimental and weightless ambient beauties. He is also a member of the nice 2 be nice collective in Berlin that specialises in parties showcasing real unadulterated house music. Inside the club he’s often flirting with acid bangers, wonky Detroit house, vortexing groovy techno or knackered Sheffield bleeps. Whatever the context, like in this High Hoops mix, expect an abundance of love, sweat, tears and acid.

Q***r DJ born and raised in Nottingham but now based in Manchester, sebastieN was first educated in underground music culture through Nottingham club night Wigflex and learnt the importance of community through attending various (q***r) nights at Salford’s The White Hotel.

“Having recorded this right at the tail end of summer, I wanted this to be a farewell to the season by featuring some of my favourite tracks from this years warmer months, whilst still looking forward with anticipation of the club season approaching.”

This Thursday at the Palestine Fundraiser, we will be raising extra funds for Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP) by hosting a raffle at the DBA in amongst the other activities of the evening.

We have 6 bundles of prizes available to be won with raffle tickets available to buy on the night. £1 per ticket, please bring cash. 5 bundles will be handed out on the evening to attendees with physical raffle tickets.

We will keep one bundle aside for people who cannot make the event to have the chance to win. All you need to do is click on the crowdfunder raffle link in our bio to buy some raffle tickets. We will contact you by email if you’re the lucky winner!

All funds raised will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) who work for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees

LEEDS - WE’RE COMING IN!

Leeds is a city that has always inspired us with the likes of and ._.party carving out a unique q***r identity in the city, so it is an honour for us to be able to host High Hoops here for a one off party. This October we will be making a trip across the Pennines to one of our favourite northern cities to bring that Manchester energy to with some of our favourite artists!

Joining us we have the musical powerhouse for one of his first back-to-the-club gigs in quite some time, after spending the last few years composing tv and film scores. One of the most versatile djs out there, Nathan can seamlessly guide a dancefloor in any direction, not afraid to keep the crowd guessing.

Also on the bill we have one of our favourite discoveries of the last few years and a dj that we have wanted to book for quite some time, Melbourne born .dj_ We caught Merve playing Panorama Bar in Spring and it was one of the best sets we had seen in quite some time. Expect high tempo trance and pumping house from this Berlin based selector 🔥

Very excited to announce that we will be collaborating with one of the most iconic q***r parties in the States, next month.

Honcho is a renowned celebration of q***rness based in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. The three founders and .hammer create a weekend of magic in a remote forest every year with their festival Honcho Campout which has seen guests like CCL, Peach and Ciel play, as well as hosting monthly and bi-monthly residencies in Pittsburg’s and iconic Brooklyn club

We can’t wait to invite them to Manchester for the first time next month where they we will take over the White Hotel together for an all night celebration of transatlantic q***rness.

A bubbling staple in the London q***r scene, Seb can usually be found between the likes of Dalston Superstore and the iconic club night Adonis (of which he is a resident), and also recently performed at Glasto’s iconic gay club The Meat Rack. We can’t wait to welcome him to Manchester for the first time.

First up we have D. Tiffany and Roza Terenzi playing an extended b2b set at The White Hotel. Known for their trippy, trance fuelled productions and dj sets, the pair are an unstoppable force who have graced every major festival and club worldwide. We can’t wait to welcome the duo to close out the Hotel on our favourite weekend of the year.

RA is teaming up with some of the UK's most renowned clubs and industry experts to build a programme for aspiring promoters. This month we celebrate EIGHT years of High Hoops… We can’t quite believe we have been doing it quite this long but huge huge thanks to all you dancers out there, venue staff, artists and all the people behind the scenes, you’ve kept us going through thick and thin and now it’s time to celebrate!

This time round, we welcome some of our favourite artists to our home in Salford; Suze Ijó bringing her deep and sensual sounds to the North West for the very first time, Club Fitness with her acid tinged peak-time heaters and finally FAFF showing us how to close the night in style with hi octane q***r energy.
