Come and march or roll down 32nd Ave near Essentia hospital to Sanford's Southpointe clinic to raise our voices loud and clear and say that enough is enough! That healthcare and safety are basic human rights! That hospitals should be safe spaces where lives are saved not massacred or assassinated.
Hospitals and clinics should be a safe zone and by international law "are". But we have seen in Palestine that is not the case. Not only in Gaza but now in the West Bank too. No one should have to fear for their life and safety seeking treatment or shelter in the hospital or care clinics.
At minimum at least 613 people have died in hospitals at the hands of Israel with the support and backing of the US and again at minimum 770 injured, according to an article released by the UN a month ago. This means the number has only risen since its writing.
According to Euromedhr as of 3 Feb. at least 309 healthcare professionals have been killed with over 380 having been wounded or injured. By that same report it is stated 235 healthcare facilities and vehicles have been destroyed or damaged. At least 26 hospitals, 63 clinics, and 146 ambulances.
There are over 67,240 wounded Palestinians with no safe place for treatment and near to no medical resources i.e. medication, operable diagnostic devices, aide devices, anesthetics, etc. Where are they to go? How are they to get treatment? There are no safe hospitals or clinics and the blockade is preventing life saving resources from entering Gaza. People, young children all the way to the elderly are receiving amputations (at times with a literal saw or butcher knives as there is nothing else), facial/body repair/restoration, and excruciating procedures without pain medication or anesthesia. And that is if those procedures can even be done as resources have become so scarce many are left to suffer a slow and painful death instead.
This cannot go on! We must demand an end to this. We must advocate for their right to life and healthcare. We must demand a cessation to the war crimes and call for an immediate ceasefire! The occupation must end and the blockade must be lifted!
Bring yourselves and your voices, bring your signs and your flags, bring your keffiyeh and other symbolic attire!
We are stronger together. We are louder when unified. And our message is amplified when we gather in numbers.
We will gather at the field of Ed Clapp park on the corner of 28th St S and 30th ave S in Fargo before making our way toward the hospital and eventually reconvene at the field.
wear proper and appropriate clothing for the weather! be conscious and considerate of those around you, as such masks are highly encouraged.
some potential ideas for where parking can be found-- the nearby shopping complex (both behind and in front), guest parking at the hospital toward the back of the lot (please do be mindful and leave the front and majority of spaces for patients in need of treatment as it does also double as a specialty clinic at the front and an emergency room on the left side), the library, and street parking on nearby sideroads.
Hope to see you all there!
