My Halloween show for 2024 is ready. The show is great for children and seniors. If you’re facility has the room, I have a 10‘ x 8‘ custom back drop a laboratory to go with the magical mad scientist theme of the show. The show includes magic tricks such as a Forgetful Frankenstein who loses his head and the children help to put it back by magic, A comedy magic routine with sponge eyeballs, A mysteriously funny floating eyeball, pumpkin pictures that disappear one by one and are replaced with spider pictures. And the show is concluded with a teenage Frankenstein puppet named Frankie Junior who helps me sing Monster Mash to end the show, and much more to make this a hilariously delightful not frightful magic show. Four senior center shows this week. Just finished the second one and have two more tomorrow. Along with two other children’s birthday parties. here’s a picture of my set up just before Showtime. Busy week for magic shows this week. Yay!!

On Wednesday, June 28 I had the privilege of performing my one and a half hour stage magic show for California State University Chico upcoming freshmen and the staff. About 200 in attendance and we had a great time together. My granddaughter, Temperance, was visiting us and she asked if she could help in the show. So we worked out a short musical opening that she was able to assist me with. It was a very special time to have her on stage with me as well. Magic, mind reading and illusions made for a great fun evening for everyone. I even got a standing ovation.

The last two weeks have been pretty rough. Fortunately, I didn’t have any magic shows scheduled. We’ve been buried in snow. I do have two shows coming up this weekend in Redding and Napa and there’s no snow in sight for the next week, so I am busy trying to dig my way out. Because my driveway is longer than a football field. I decided not to try to clear the entire driveway but to work clearing at least enough room for the car wheels to get traction. the video is my progress so far. The real magic getting this cleared off is backbreaking hard work. I’m not just shoveling snow but ice as well.  As they say, the show must go on.

Last weekend for the Track or Treat train Halloween shows I’ve been doing in October. It’s been a great ride, fun audience, great 40 shows. If you were on board and took photos, feel free to share.

Once again this year I am performing as the Magical Mad Scientist on the Track or Treat train in Old Town Sacramento. Delightful but not frightful Halloween shows sponsored by the  California State Railroad Museum Foundation. To see the show you must purchase first class tickets, not coach. Show dates and times are October 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30.  Train times at 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:30 PM, 4:00 PM on each date. 

Where: Purchase tickets online in advance or at the Ticket Office day of (if available), located at the Central Pacific Passenger Station on Front Street in Old Sacramento.
