h my flowers ended up being pretty nice, I was stressed, crunched for time, unable to focus and inevitably still had spent a fair amount for all of my supposedly "wholesale" materials. I would have gladly paid a little bit more to not have to stress, worry or have something as major as the floral arrangements to accomplish moments before I was getting married. That's when I realized how invaluable a specialized wedding and event florist professional really is. They're not just making pretty arrangements. They're helping to create your memorable affair without adding any additional tasks, stress or complications to your event. They take your vision and turn it into a reality. The consumer is actually paying for the flowers, greens, vases, wires, ribbons, tape, pins, technical knowledge, artistic design, delivery, set-up and the hidden peace of mind that everything will turn out beautifully. Over the next few years I began studying design, techniques, care and preservation in order to better understand and master floral design and mechanics. I was able to create arrangements for several weddings and this only reconfirmed my passion for color, texture and arranging the beauty of nature for others. Once I left my career as an elementary teacher to be a stay at home mommy to my two adorable little handfuls I knew I wanted to also launch a special occasion event floral business and that's how The Woodland Florist came to be. As a bride or groom you should be focused on marrying the one you love and want to commit you life to, not on making sure your floral arrangements are completed on time, because it's not something that can be accomplished very far in advance. I always strive to use Eco-friendly, sustainable and/or local products and flowers in my arrangements and designs. I order flowers directly from local vendors, sustainable flower farms and whenever possible utilize readily available natural elements from the meadow and woodland around me. Your flowers and elements will be ordered and gathered specifically for your wedding or event to ensure they are as fresh and beautiful as possible!
