We each bring our own creative talents and can bring your vision to life. Michelle specializes in graphic arts and eco-friendly events. Barbara specializes in decor particularly rustic, farmhouse and vintage. Janet specializes in detailed planning, budgeting and troub

le-shooting. We started A Family Affair after planning numerous family reunions, business events, birthday parties and many weddings for family and friends. Wedding planning tends to fall on the shoulders of the bride or the bride's mother. To plan a once in a lifetime event takes an incredible amount of time and energy. By the time of the wedding they are exhausted, frazzled and just want it to be done! We want to change that so that you can enjoy the wedding. We also saw how much money is spent on wedding decor only to crowd up your garage afterwards. We can provide the decor and table linens as part of our full service planning package. We can also just rent you decor at pennies on the dollar. Our fees are nominal and are designed to cover our costs. This is not a profit building company. We are a stress reducing, time saving and budget stretching company!

Our Story - Happiness - A Legacy from our Mom

Our Story - A Family Affair is a women owned business created by two sisters. We are a full service event planner. We each bring our own creative talents and can bring your vision to life. Barbara specializes in decor particularly rustic, farmhouse and vintage. Janet specializes in detailed planning, budgeting and trouble-shooting. We started A Family Affair after planning numerous family reunions, business events, birthday parties and many weddings for family and friends.

We started this business after our mother passed away on April 18, 2017. We were able to have a “long good-bye” with mom in the last months of her illness. She told us to be happy, that when you get to the end of your life, nothing else will matter. You won’t care how much money you’ve accumulated, or your job title, or accolades that you have received. All that will matter when you look back at your life will be, were you happy? Did you bring joy to others?

For years, we’ve said someday we should start our own business. Listening to our mom’s words of wisdom, someday became now. We are sure that our mother is looking down from heaven and is so very happy to see her girls working together and pursuing their own dreams while bringing others joy.
