I had the most incredible time dancing with all the wonderful people who came out to hear the amazing set by DJ Bricklayer last night, thank you to them and everyone who showed up and showed out! Literally too busy dancing and carrying on to get any pictures beyond a few IG stories, but if you were there you know. ❤️🎧

It was exactly what I needed to get inspired for the next SiP, 1984, A Disco Dystopia.

This will not be your typical 80s night, as I have a set planned that embraces and acknowledges the paranoia, nuclear anxiety, disease & citizen surveillance of the era, among other concerns, all as relevant today as they were then, when dance music often looked outward at the world as much as it did inward.

In some ways a thesis show, but it won't strictly be a nostalgic or academic exercise, there will be a "sprinkling of euphoria" as DJ Rubí put it to me when I showed him this flier (an AI generated image that previews some other aesthetic & personnel changes coming to the event in the new year).

Trying something a little new for SiP in the months ahead. 2nd Sundays will be reserved for my own 4 hour sets, and the 4th Sunday will be an opportunity to invite some of my favorite selectors to spread their wings and deliver a full 4 hour journey of their own. On October 23rd I am excited to present Bricklayer for a full set of Disco, House, Italo, NRG, New Wave and Post Punk in a style that is uniquely theirs. I'm not kidding when I say this is a set I am looking forward to more than most anything this year. I hope you'll join us. 6-10PM. No cover before 7, $10 after. The Cantab Lounge
