A flood of quality new releases over the last fortnight, and that means an unexpectedly early new episode 😁

Alex Gold gets the ⭐ Gold Star for 'A Trip To Tulum'. This must be the first track i've bought on Xtravaganza for a long, long time. I will forever associate it with Agnelli & Nelson's 'El Niño', 25 years ago 😮

What else is going on? The Stoneface & Terminal track is distinctly not deep/progressive in any way, but is so hilarious I had to include it. There's a smattering of house, breaks and an obligatory old school bootleg remix too.

Before we resume the insanity at the top end of the scale, I thought i'd circle round and fill in some of the gaps 🚀🔁

This tempo lends itself really well to a balanced 21st century selection (i.e. not stuffed with 90s tracks, which is what the remaining fast ones are going to be!) 😄

Phew, 139! 🎛️⚡🔌 We're on the home straight now!

This mix almost didn't happen. It's an incredibly obscure choice of speed, and I was struggling to find enough quality material in my library 😲

Then I noticed Push's 'Strange World' was in there. A classic in no uncertain terms, and a lot of people's favorite trance track, so I had to find a way to make this come together 😁

What we've got then, is a set containing some really rare songs and hidden gems, mixed in with one of the most well known ever.

Plus something from the Ghost In The Shell anime soundtrack, to finish things off. Yes, she's singing in Japanese 😉

I was worried this mix would be overshadowed by the 136 milestone that preceeded it, and the inevitable juggernaut that is 138😟. However, I found the perfect opener and everything flowed easily from then on!😉👌

A significant milestone, if you're a BPM nerd like me! 🤓 The tipping point between progressive and harder/uplifting stuff, with a helping of cheese too.

If I could only listen to one speed of trance from history, 136 is where i'd land 🫡.

Glancing down the tracklist, the opening 30 minutes is a blast from the past but then there's a more than respectable dose of modern trance too.

March 2024 - Deep Trance 🎶🎧

Welcome back! The new music continues.....👌

Some big new EPs and albums have come out recently. I've cherry picked a few tracks for this set, but let me give them a plug because there's plenty more good listening here:

- There's a great 3 track remix EP of classics from 90s/00s artist 'Breeder'. I've included Tyrantanic and Twilo Thunder, but The Chain has also been reworked. That's on Hooj Choons.

- Exotek, who i've never heard of(!), has a 4 track EP on JOOF Recordings. There's a couple of tracks here and I recommend a listen to the whole thing!

- Younger Than Me has released an artist album 'The Golden Age Of Love'. Again, i've played a couple of tracks but recommend a full listen!
