Northland Tango at Rawene 😍
Thank you for your interest in Tango. I am looking forward to meeting you all in Rawene.
Although partners are very important in tango, it is not necessary to have even numbers
of lead and follow in every class.
Teas, coffee and biscuits are available throughout workshop weekend. Small koha for
Rawene Dance Club appreciated.
Friday 11 th November 2022 6:30pm – 9:00pm
FREE Informal class introducing the elements of Tango with basic instruction in ‘Milonga’—the
“fun” dance of Tango, followed by time for practice and a light supper [provided by RDC]
Saturday 12 th November 2022 – three workshops, evening meal and dance
1. 1030-1200 All levels – Fundamentals and Foundation of Tango – the music, the walk,

the embrace.

1200-1300 Break for Lunch – please bring your own lunch
2. 1300–1430 Beginner-Intermediate Level – the music, the walk, the embrace at a

deeper level with technique and combinations

1430-1500 Break for Afternoon Tea
3. 1500–1630 Beginner-Intermediate Level – discovering parallel and cross systems and

when and how to use it.
1630-1700 Free Guided Practica
Each workshop is $20 per person, or $50 for all three workshops. Please make payments in cash
From 6pm Saturday evening please bring a plate for a shared meal to be followed by a general

dance, including some tango!

-Come and learn from the best: Tutor Philip Gentry from Auckland.

-1.30-2.30 pm Intermediate Bachata 1
-2.45-3.45 pm Intermediate Bachata 2 (prior skills needed for these 2 workshops)
-4-5 pm Bachata Beginner
-6 PM Potluck Dinner
-Followed by an evening DANCE PARTY, selection of dance styles...

-Bachata is a fun and achievable Caribbean party dance originating from Dominican Republic. Bachata is danced all over the world in Latin dance halls and parties. Bachata music is known for it's love stories and syncopated rhythm.
