Guy for All Seasons My life as a hedonistic, pleasure seeking glutton. www.guyforallseaons.com Interviews with producers, retailers, diners, restaurant staff.

I’m thunderstruck at the prospect of sharing my hedonistic panorama of a life as a pleasure seeking glutton. These culinary quests will manifest in various forms; simple restaurant reviews from my travels, be it in Glasgow, Scotland, UK, Europe or further afield. Then there will be recipes, food and cookery shopping trips, advice on knives, pots, stoves and other kitchen and dining room related it

ems. I will demonstrate how simple it is to go from a life of processed, sanitised and nutrition-less food to a varied and exciting diet packed full of nature’s goodies.

Pets, it turns out, also have last wishes before they die, but only known by veterinarians who put old and sick animals to sleep. Twitter user Jesse Dietrich asked a vet what was the most difficult part of his job.

The specialist answered without hesitation that it was the hardest for him to see how old or sick animals look for their owners with the eyes of their owners before going to sleep. The fact is that 90 % of owners don't want to be in a room with a dying animal. People leave so that they don't see their pet leave. But they don't realize that it's in these last moments of life that their pet needs them most.

Veterinarians ask the owners to be close to the animals until the very end. "It's inevitable that they die before you. Don't forget that you were the center of their life. Maybe they were just a part of you. But they are also your family. No matter how hard it is, don't leave them.

Don't let them die in a room with a stranger in a place they don't like. It is very painful for veterinarians to see how pets cannot find their owner during the last minutes of their life. They don't understand why the owner left them. After all, they needed their owner’s consolation.

Veterinarians do everything possible to ensure that animals are not so scared, but they are completely strangers to them. Don't be a coward because it's too painful for you. Think about the pet. Endure this pain for the sake of their sake.

Be with them until the end!

Many years ago, probably before his balls dropped, I met and worked alongside in Newcastle on the set of circa 1992.

David and I went on to share many unique and memorable exploits 😉 on several noteworthy film and television sets, to name but three.

Anyway, over the years his balls dropped, he met a beautiful young woman and they had a handsome and very smart son. David and I have kept in touch.

I was delighted, nay bursting with pride, when David’s pandemic hobby turned into the creation of - can you imagine my surprise and joy when the postman hand delivered this incredible tome packed full of David’s undoubtable talent and infectious humour?

I think should start a page so he might publish lots of copies and make himself a sackful of cash.

Before he was a waiter in was a chef in Perfect Sense. His dedication in playing the role saw him filleting and skinning fish in McCallum’s Fishmonger and spending two weeks in the kitchens at my restaurant, Guy’s. It was hilarious to see the faces of my customers when Ewan would escape the melting heat of the kitchen and take a seat in the comparative coolness of the dining room between stints at the stove, priceless.
He must have wondered wtf he had agreed to do… ⭐️ pupil…

Found these baby artichokes in Gt Western Rd. Simple to prep, don’t be put off, these little buds of nature are worth the effort.
I reduced the poaching water as the base for a very garlicky cream sauce. Next, fresh Italian peperoncino, parsley, evoo, salt and pepper completed the seasoning. spaghettini was the perfect match.
Tonight, not a tomato in sight.

Couldn’t say no to the last scoop of and berries.

Cream of celery, leek and potato soup with togarashi and nutmeg then bangers, mash, onion gravy and peas before a glorious ending of roast yellow peach, Cadbury’s flake and Ginesi’s ice cream… magic.

This is a honey bee. The pollen on her legs is from dandelions. Her tongue is sticking out due to what killed her that was on the dandelions.
It’s spring, dandelions are the bees first food. This bee is dead from w**d killer spread on what we see as w**ds, but what nature sees as food. Please don’t spray for w**ds until you see the blackberries blooming.
In this area, w**ds, flowers and fruit trees are bees only source of food until middle of June. There are FAR more w**ds than flowers or fruit trees, so it's their only food source. No bees, no food crops for us and we all starve?!

Panna Cotta, simple and easy to make, it’s astounding how frequently I’ve been served jaw and taste defying examples of this beautiful summery pudding, clawing and solid.
& serve perfect little magical mounds of impeccably wobbly creamy joy. As I managed to persuade an insider 😂 many years ago to share their recipe, I too prepare Panna Cotta in all the glory that the heavens bequeathed.
Served above topped with a roasted plum ravishingly bathed in its own jus, though equally as fabulous with a light sugar syrup.

Splendid lunch, that’s not doing it justice truthfully, yesterday. A cornucopia of delectable Italian deliciousness. Burrata, so creamy, with beetroot purée and blood oranges right up my strada. Great chunks of focaccia anointed in rosemary oil perfect for fare la scarpetta.
Little treats of cacio pepe lasagne fritto, eggs diavoletta (could eat these to a band playing) and crostini
arrived unexpectedly, thank you from the bottom of my tummy - each a taste bomb.
Our lunch host, mother-in-law Thelma, devoured her whole roasted sea bass. Debbie waxed lyrical over her prawn linguine as I immersed myself in beef pappardelle worthy of Caesar himself.
We could have stopped there but you’ve seen the cake cabinet in ? Caramel eclair, fluffy passion fruit cheesecake and a lemon meringue pie later we waddled back to the car only for me to fill it with unleaded instead of diesel, that’s another story.
