Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mommas out there but especially to my own mom, mom in love (law) 🥰, sisters and god mom.

I never understood what it meant when people would say it takes a village to raise your babies but wow do I understand it now. I’m so lucky to have the best village of moms helping me raise my babies and giving me the strength and advice I need on the days I’m like wtf 🤣.

I hope that if you’re a mom you’re not only being celebrated today, but every single day!

When shares a beautiful flat lay with you from an arrangement you made you can’t help but swoon! I’m so lucky to work with some of the most talented vendors and I cannot wait to create magic with her , Emily and all of the amazing vendors we have lined up for our Tahoe Editorial Workshop May 20th and 21st.

We still have tickets available to photographers for the two day workshop as well as to our networking cocktail event on the second day which is available for any vendor!

Ya girl is finally starting to feel better after a weird head cold, throat situation knocked me on my butt last week and through the weekend. I think it was probably my body telling me to slow my roll for some much needed rest.

So friendly reminder, if life is telling you to slow down, listen to it for a little.

Our first wedding of the season kicks off this weekend for the sweetest couple and I’m so excited to bring the spring with blooms like these barista mauve roses, feverfew, delphinium and many more. I can’t wait to show you what we’re creating for the ceremony design and all of the reception.

Our first wedding of the season kicks off next weekend and I am beyond excited. While we’ve had our hands on flowers for different small events, weddings are my favorite.

The way flowers transform the wedding space is something that takes my breath away every-time. It completes the entire look and truly makes the wedding beautiful.

Oh hi there! It’s been awhile since I introduced myself and I have lots of new followers lately.

I’m Kristina the owner and lead designer of Haven Florals. I love LOVE, and I love flowers and when put together for a wedding it’s a pretty dynamite combination IMHO. ❤️

This year I’m taking our business to new heights through colorful and bold floral designs and I can’t wait to create magic and masterpieces for all of our wonderful couples this season. We have lots of amazing things dreamed up so this year is gonna be 🔥!

Fun facts:

I love peanut m&ms, specifically mixed with just popped popcorn.

I am a wife to my highschool sweetheart and we have two kiddos and I still can’t believe that we created them. -I mean I can, but everyday they amaze me! My seventeen year old self is with her jaw dropped on the floor happy that we created this amazing family and that I get to grow old with my best friend.

My favorite type of flower doesn’t exist because I love them all 😂 it’s allowed I’m a florist 🫡

Floral priorities are some of my favorite things to determine with a client and the main tip I have when it comes to figuring these out is thinking of your wedding photos first!

1. Always prioritize the bridal party flowers. They’re in every group photo and a huge part of the wedding.

2. Next the ceremony design: focusing on creating a wow moment here will not only take your breath away but be in all of your photos forever. I always say go big here!

3. Lastly determining the route in which your guests will go and adding florals to those key areas, like a seating chart, bar and then a wow moment in front of your sweetheart table are really great areas to prioritize florals.

🌺 The flowers and supplies: Premium Flowers, Chicken wire for installations, water picks, compotes, urns, vases, lomey dishes, tape, ribbon, pins, bouquet vases, are a few of the items we allocate this part of your budget to. Each wedding design requires different supplies so sourcing begins the minute the contract is signed.

👯‍♀️🚚Labor + Transportation: paying living wages to a team to execute the vision presented, plus renting uhauls/vans, packing tubs and boxes for the carefully designed centerpieces and bouquets is how we allocate this part of your wedding budget.

🙋🏼‍♀️🏫The Florist + Studio overhead: paying ourselves to stay in business while also keeping the studio bills paid is how we spend the rest of the budget.

THE TAKEAWAY
Wedding floral design is vastly different from getting flowers from the local grocery store. You’re paying for the flowers and supplies yes, but also the art of their work, the team needed to bring your vision to life and their business to stay in business. Look figuring out your wedding budget and then figuring out what your floral budget should be doesn’t have to make you pull your hair out. Here’s our rule of thumb:

If flowers aren’t super important to you and you still want them to appear at your wedding, then allocate 10-15%. This is so you can have a sprinkle of florals for your day but not go overboard on the overall budget.

If you want flowers everywhere like all of those Pinterest, magazine weddings then bump that budget up to 15-25% this is going to help elevate the event with flowers for every part of the wedding.

Floral design has the ability to elevate your wedding no matter what your budget is and I love working with brides to figure out what’s important to them and where we can make the most impact with their budget.

Yesterday was an absolute dreamy wedding, full of an abundance of flowers. We had greenery dripping down the tables and staircase and I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. Happy Wedding Season to us as we crushed it on our first one! 💃🏼❤️
