It always amazes us how combining florals with different mediums allows us to see flowers in a new light. The baby’s breath in last weekend’s collaboration with light artist Patrick Ethen evoked an otherworldly, smoke-like haze that served as an unexpected backdrop for Jordan and Tim’s ceremony.

We designed, built and flowered this 5-foot skull installation for a private party this past weekend. We have the coolest clients—no bones about it! Happy Halloween! 💀

Founded in 2015 by sibling duo Courtney and Jeff Szymkiw, Detroit Design Co. is a floral and event design studio serving metro Detroit and beyond. We specialize in weddings, corporate events and styling, but we’re always excited to collaborate on new projects. At DDCo., we create spaces worth celebrating—whether it be your home, business or special event.

The Floral of the Story After a decade in the floral world, Courtney has developed a refined organic aesthetic that is at the root of everything we do. By mixing fresh blooms, lush greens and interesting textures, we set ourselves apart from the monotony of traditional floral design. We love experimenting with color, movement and composition to create unique looks for any occasion.

Occasions Whether you’re hosting an intimate gathering or throwing a lavish affair, our goal is to make your floral decor the talk of the party. If you’re looking for more than just flowers, we also offer event design services that encompass all visual elements of your celebration.
