My name is Moheeni and I live with my husband and son in Disley. I love to cook and feed friends and family, and on a Friday night it’s usually curry night in our house! In February 2015, I decided to offer some local workmen an alternative Friday lunch option. I soon extended this to dinner for my neighbours, and grew from this into a

registered business that April. My focus is on sharing home cooked Gujarati inspired Indian food, influenced by my Indian heritage. I am passionate about home cooking and know that a Friday night curry meal doesn’t have to be bad for you. The ingredients I use are mainly locally sourced. All of my meat comes from D&S Butchers in Marple, is reared in Britain and complies with British Meat Quality Standards. My fish and prawns come from Manchester Fish Market. My veg is a combination of J H Neal's Grocers Marple and Indian Grocers. I believe these sourcing decisions allow me to purchase the freshest products to enhance the dishes I cook each week. It also enables me to support local business. Since starting out, Moheeni nu has grown through word of mouth and local advertising and it now has an established and valued customer base. I have many regulars, with new customers joining all the time. Moheeni nu is also able to offer individually tailored cookery classes from my home and private catering for up to 80 guests. Gift vouchers are also available. I have consistently been awarded 5 out of 5 by Cheshire East Council for Food Hygiene, and I hold a qualification in Food Safety & Hygiene for Catering and catering insurance. I look forward to cooking for you soon :-)

Hey all,
No service this week I'm afraid but the silver lining ..........

After many requests from a number of customers, family & friends, I am offering for sale my mango chutney and lemon pickle.

I'm making small, fresh batches weekly. A nice gifting idea for that foodie person we all know. We always have a jar of each on the go in our fridge.

My Mango Chutney is packed with juicy mango infused with cardamom, star anise, cinnamon & clove. Sweet with warming notes. Not chunky, not smooth just nicely in between.
£5.50 a jar

My Lemon (Limbu) Pickle is made with the most amazing smelling lemons in a spicy, sour, sweet & bitter all at once marinade. The marinade is so good as a drizzle or spread too.
£5 a jar

Both are in190g re-usable glass jars with removable paper labels.

Both are free from artificial ingredients and are dairy & gluten intolerance friendly. As I handle all allergens in my kitchen, my mango chutney & lemon pickle are not allergen free.

Ps finely sliced red onions with ground cumin and vinegar go so well with a lamb curry. It helps with digestion of the lamb too as it can be quite rich. Just make it a little before you eat so the flavours can infuse.

I am happy to tailor catering options with both Indian and non Indian dishes for events if required. Company lunches are also possible.

I can also come and prepare a personalised menu for you in your own home, where your kitchen facilities allow. A friends night in, family get together, date night; freshly cooked food in time for dinner (or lunch).

Diwali is an Indian festival which celebrates the triumph of light over dark, good over evil.

I made some nankhatai biscuits to contribute to the festivities. They are an Indian biscuit with a touch of cardamom. Similar to shortbread.
