In today's world of social media fake and internet scams, I think it's important to show who we are. This is me in my soap space here in Maine.
My name is Mary Plummer and I am the founder of UCOA the owner of Maine Micro Artisans and the artisan at Bar Soap Co.
I'm just a regular person who believes that if we all work together, we can accomplish really big things. I'm not perfect. I'm not a one-stop solution.
I do possess a strong set of business survival skills. I am quick on my feet. I am resilient. I am an out-of-the- box thinker. Solutions to problems is where I shine.
UCOA is the solution to two different problems. Makers need an easier way to get their work into stores. They need better reporting and an easier way to get paid. They need one contract that covers multiple locations. They need to be able to focus on what they do best and that's making.
On the other side of that, retailers need easier ways to find clients creating just the right things for their store with the right terms, right now. Taking weeks and even months to source products is not time retailers have in this volatile market. They need to focus on what they do best and that's selling.

I am specifically looking for things that would be a great fit in her shop including tea towels, pottery baskets, wash cloths, scrubbies, diffusers etc.
I am also looking for things like greeting cards, handmade gift bags, and other items for gift giving!
When people visit the retail partnerships that we have they're, generally speaking, searching for a gift. We should lean heavily into that. Handmade gift packaging, gift tags and greeting cards are great ways to land additional sales and put the finishing perfect touches on an order for one of our retail partners. ❤️

A small business that I know and respect came to me and told me they were struggling and needed help to keep their doors open. A light bulb went off and the light has shined so bright it's kept me up all night.

Let's talk about e-commerce. There are lots of folks who will consign your items and put them in an online shop. Where they will sit and sit and sit.... Maybe they'll show you website traffic, but can they show you a history of online sales? I sure can! My soap company has sold over $100,000 worth of soap, strictly online since it's launch in 2019. In 2022-23 we held dozens of events across Maine that attracted thousands of visitors. We learned a lot about craft fairs and artisan markets. We're excited to offer these with a modern and unique twist. Wait until you see what we have up our sleeves. You're going to love this.
