This day, two years ago at we said I do to each other and all the adventures life will bring.

Tonight we celebrated all that has been and all that is yet to be, and what better way than with a gorgeous and sentimental cake. Thank you to our dear friend Esy from .phl for this luxurious cake. The icing and intricate line work is modeled after the signature pieces of our wedding suits and the perfectly spiced carrot cake is reminiscent of the first we sliced as husbands.

Chef Kenneth Masten has been a Chef for the past 18 years. But when his culinary journey started almost 27 years ago, he knew he had a deep passion to provide his guests with memorable culinary experiences.

Over the course of his journey, Chef Kenneth Masten has had varied experiences from cooking for weddings to large Southern Summer BBQ’s, to intimate couples dining. He has spent time working at the Rittenhouse Hotel, Jose Garces Catering at the Kimmel Center, as well as at a host of other Philadelphia restaurants.

The defining philosophy of Chef’s culinary prowess is to provide his guests with the experience to taste and savor the secret ingredient that sets great food apart from good food - love.
Chef knows that you can feel its undeniable presence in dishes as well the stark contrast of emptiness in its absence.

“Tamryon was an absolute pleasure to work with! He led the venue coordination for our wedding and every step of the way he was guiding us through making our wedding absolutely perfect. We did not live local to the wedding venue and because of him, our wedding was the best day of our lives. The day of, he led the set up and coordination of our event, and while sadly it did rain the day of, he helped pivot the ceremony to be indoors (and the guests never even noticed). He and his team were the most gracious hosts, making the best drinks and helping everything go so smoothly. There was never a dirty dish left out, drinks were always flowing, and they were always attentive to our needs throughout the night.

We cannot recommend enough, and if you are having your event , Tamyron will be the best hands in the industry.”

Today marks Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865 General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas to read Order No. 3, which affirmed the end of slavery in the states of the former Confederacy.

This momentous occasion has been celebrated as Juneteenth - a combination of “June” and “Nineteenth” - for over 150 years.

Though the Emancipation Proclamation freed all enslaved people in the Confederacy, its announcement and enforcement relied on the advance of Union troops.

Although some were aware of the Proclamation, it wasn’t until June 19, 1865 that the United States Army enforced it in Galveston.

While today we celebrate Juneteenth as a day of liberation and a symbol of progress in American History, it is also a reminder that we still have far to go on the path toward racial equity.
