Friends and family. I’m reaching out to you because one of my best friends, and fraternity brother, is in need of support. In college, when I had my foot surgeries and couldn’t climb my three flights of stairs Lawrence opened his door to me and took care of me. This man even did my laundry 😂. These are the type of friends you meet in college. Right now, he and his family are in need of love, support, and community. His mom has endured some serious health battles over the last few yrs and currently in the hospital. As photographers we all have our own style. Some are dramatic and gloomy, some are light and airy, some rely heavily on photoshop, some still shoot film etc. As someone who began in the days of film, developing in the darkroom, I’ve always been a fan of candid. In fact I’ve never edited a wedding in photoshop. Yes I edit, but my style doesn’t rest on photoshop. It’s rooted in candid, raw, authentic moments. I don’t aim to create great pictures, I aim to capture great moments that make photoshop unnecessary.

Despite a few minor edits, this image was 95% straight out of my camera. When the bride first showed me the location in AZ, I was instantly excited. I knew I’d capture great moments. This wedding was so much fun, and I was truly honored that not only was I selected to be a pivotal part of their day, but of all the photographers in Arizona, they decided they’d fly me and my team to Arizona to capture their big day. I’m grateful, appreciative, and happy that I was able to be a part of this moment in their lives. There are lots of photographers who despise weddings, but I love the pressure, the test, and the intersection of happiness, fashion, beauty, family, and fun on a wedding day!
