She fell in love with dance even more when she became a member of the Starlite Dancers, the competitive team within Gotta Dance at the age of five. She has studied under various instructors such as Michele Broviak, Jay Fagan, Jason Janas, Kacey Combs, Sam Renzetti, Sarah Ford, Jory Bowling and Avnun Yakubov. ars at Gotta Dance she won top awards regionally and nationally with groups, productions, trios, duets, as well as a soloist. In 2005 Kailey won the title of Miss Nexstar at the national competition in Chicago performing her modern lyrical solo. Kailey has competed in the Human Rhythm Project and took first place with a large group tap choreographed by Jason Janas. At age 14 Kailey became a teacher assistant and started choreographing solos for younger dancers. A year later Kailey found herself as the primary tap instructor and choreographer for a dance company teaching ages 6-15. During this time she has also won many choreography awards and has also choreographed top scoring routines.Kailey finished up her competitive career with Powerhouse Dance Company before becoming a member of the York High School’s Pom team. At York she danced at football and basketball games and competed in the categories of Kick, Pom and Hip Hop.After high school Kailey attended Ripon College in Wisconsin where she continued her dance career earning a position as co-captain her sophomore year.For the past 8 years Kailey has instructed and choreographed at DeForest Dance Academy. Kailey is currently teaching at Dance Xplosion located in Bloomingdale, Illinois. While teaching during the week, Kailey also travels during the spring and summer to judge competitions nation wide. Most recently Kailey has performed in the Grand opening of Chicago's Virgin Hotel with Richard Branson in a "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" flash mob.
