God saw Abraham as righteous because He believed not only in God, but that God was going to do what He promised. There is a big difference in “believing in God” as so many say they do and really believing that He will do what He says He will do.

And as we can see, there is nothing we can do to save ourselves, righteousness comes from God when we believe.

Thank God that we do not have to rely on what we ourselves do to be saved. Our righteousness comes from the Lord, and that should give us confidence in His power.
Have you been trying to earn your way to God? If you have, it’s time to let go and believe in His promise that “Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, in Romans 10:13.

Acts 4:12: Jesus Christ is the only One who can save people. No one else in the world is able to save us.

Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace [God's remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God"

Timothy 4:18-20 NIV - 18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever.

Even the Apostle Paul had to say, “I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing” (Romans 7:19). This is why we need God’s help, for only He can give us the strength we need to live the way we should.

But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
