Maybe it's because I'm in my "auntie" phase now and refuse to be bothered but I'm not about to argue with anybody about my SL occupation, especially since I'm basically retired anyway. I did what I did and tried very hard to do it well. That's it. That's all. Never tried to compare myself, never wasted energy trying to tear someone else down, say what is/isn't real because of what they did or didn't do (unless of course you tried to copy me in my face but that's different lol). I've had soooooooo many people tell me that I'm not real because I don't mix that I don't even like to call myself a DJ even though I did what others called DJ for over 15 years. I am an on-air personality who plays music and yes I've done it in real life as well as SL.

My opinion on the matter that has yall up in arms today is this: With all and only due respect, when you are what you say you are then you don't have to defend yourself. Just be the thing you say you are. It's that easy. Truth defends you without you having to say a word. F these people, their opinions and their op-eds for attention. Why tf should you, I, or anyone else give any part of a damn what some pixel person who doesn't pay my bills has to say? They have an opinion. So what? They're like everybody has one and some of them are $hitty. Do you and other people do them. At the end of the day you don't have any control over it anyway so why waste the energy fussing about it?

Anyway y'all have a great Thanksgiving if you celebrate it. If you don't, fine, whatever. Have a great day.

Types of dementia

Alzheimer’s disease is by far the most common form, causing 60 to 80 percent of dementia cases, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. But there are other forms, each with different causes and sometimes strikingly different symptoms. These include vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia and frontotemporal dementia — which entered popular consciousness with news of actor Bruce Willis’ diagnosis in 2023. Some people can suffer from a combination of two or more of these, a condition known as mixed dementia. What these illnesses have in common is that they result from a progressive destruction of brain cells, affecting thinking, memory and behavior in various ways. ​

What causes dementia?

Dementia occurs when neurons, or nerve cells, in the brain quit working. They lose their connection to other brain cells and eventually die. We all lose neurons as we age, but the loss is much greater in dementia. Some risk factors for dementia, such as age and genetics, are impossible to change. But there are other factors that you can act upon — including diet and exercise, hearing loss and social isolation.

Speak to your doctor and healthcare providers if you think you are experiencing the signs of dementia.

I am and hope to always be the type of person who never jumps to a conclusion on important matters without knowing the facts. To that end, I felt like I didn't know enough about what Project 2025 is to make an informed decision about whether I should or should not agree with it. So, I went to the website ( https://www.project2025.org/ ) and read (and am still reading). I encourage all of you to do the same!! Don't depend on what someone else tells you about it, not the news, your friends, your family, or anyone else. Go and look for yourself. You NEED to know!! I say this not just to Americans, but to people in other countries as well so that you can be clear about what the Project is, as well as what it plans to do.

I'm not here to sway anyone's opinion. I will just say that this quote from the website's policy page sent chills through me: "Our goal is to assemble an army of aligned, vetted, trained, and prepared conservatives to go to work on Day One to deconstruct the Administrative State."

As someone who loves America (flaws and all), that statement frightens me. It wouldn't matter if the ones saying that were liberals, I would oppose this with every ounce of my being. It's my strong opinion that "deconstruct the Administrative State" to install "aligned" people in every significant decision-making position equates to authoritarianism! This country has a lot of things wrong with it, a ton of improvements that need to be made, corrections, apologies, and work to do, but democracy is one thing it has right. You can't just toss it aside just cause it's not going the way you want it to go in the moment. That is how a spoiled child behaves.

This whole thing is scary and infuriating all at the same time.

My thoughts on the Suki musician/magician video/debate (not that anyone asked or cares):
For decades, we have shown the entertainment industry that we will reward ignorance with our money and attention, chide intellect, and ridicule those who have the nerve to attempt to elevate entertainment to anything more than recklessness or foolishness.
Then we turn around and wonder why younger generations seem less and less interested in using their brains to do anything more than scroll to find the next thing they find funny.

Whether you think Suki was pretending or not (BTW - the argument that she was making a deeper statement about the difference between being a rapper versus being a musician doesn't hold water. She literally said "So I'm a musician? WTF that mean?" and "I make music." so I'm not even gonna address that side of the debate cause IMO that's a limp reach made up to try to defend the indefensible.), her antics and the platform we've given her to perform them are our own fault. We've shown time and again that the path to money and fame requires nothing more than the willingness to behave in the worst way possible in public or act as ignorant as they can. The lower our entertainers are willing to go, the larger the platform we give, and the more money we'll spend to watch and listen.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with keeping things light and funny. Those of you who know me, know that I am about as silly a person as you'll ever meet sometimes. I love laughing and making others laugh too. But as an audience, our general unwillingness to give anything serious as much of our money and attention as the silly s**t continues to devolve our expectations. You can see the evidence of that on TV, in Movies, and in music. Jay-Z said it in Moment of Clarity, "I dumb down for my audience and double my dollars.... If skills sold, truth be told, I'd probably be lyrically Talib Kweli." I guarantee you that 80% of his audience has to look up who tf Kweli is because he never got/gets airplay or shine because his music isn't a bunch of fluff.

Anyway, I'm saying all this to say that if it annoys you that Suki has earned the status that she has and makes the money that she does while not knowing or at least pretending not to know what a musician is, then perhaps you should put that frustration into action by directing your dollars toward the type of artists that are her antithesis. That's literally the only way situations like that will eventually be corrected. Otherwise, it is what it is.
