We couldn’t be more thrilled to produce the inaugural Bar Awards presented by !

This significant event shines a light on the exceptional regional bars that have shaped Newcastle’s dynamic food and drink scene. With nominations closed and finalists announced, the excitement builds as we head into judging!

Featuring an incredible lineup of judges including Liam Garvin, , and amongst others, this trailblazing event is set to grow even bigger and better. We are also thrilled to have secured as our MC. With her extensive background in food journalism and as the former editor The Good Food Guide and Time Out Sydney’s Food & Drink section, her presence is a huge deal for us and the event. We love working with her!

Being part of its infancy, curating and crafting this event has been an honour. Our role has extended beyond production: we’ve supported the HunterHunter team in assessing criteria, engaging judges, exploring commercial opportunities, crafting strategic partnerships, developing artwork and assets, talent curation, and organising all aspects of the awards night.

We love working regionally, supporting small businesses and communities. Celebrating these wonderful places and providing a platform for them to shine is important to us.

We are thrilled to partner on this event. Get your tickets and join us for what promises to be an unforgettable night!

I recently read an article in about return to Kyoto for a pop-up at the end of this year to celebrate the finale of Noma as we know it. was quoted saying:

“I am happy when I am filled with curiosity. I am sad when I imagine I will repeat the same thing tomorrow”.

This has deeply resonated with me and how I like to practice what I do as the founder of we are neighbourgood., a creative events specialist company, and as a curator and producer.

We find immense inspiration in the practices of innovative leaders like Redzepi. Just as Redzepi revolutionised the culinary world by emphasising local ingredients and cultural storytelling, we strive to deliver events and experiences that are deeply rooted in the cultural landscapes of the communities we serve.

Like Redzepi, we believe in the power of connection between people, places, and stories.

Brilliant and inspiring read (by one of our favourite journos ). Connecting through food is a driving force to a lot of the work we do but programs like this take this to a whole new level. We are hoping through a new series of self produced events we can support programs like this to offer on ground experience for budding culinary talent and provide work opportunities that expand their skill set and exposure to the industry in non conventional environments.

Repost .australia. From the south side of Chicago to suburban Queensland, cooking classes are transforming the lives of incarcerated people. Recently, writer spoke to Koori chef Chris Jordan of in Brisbane, where one such program is reconnecting young people in detention with the magic of food, one bowl of native-inspired butter chicken at a time.

Just a stone’s throw from our office lies a place of magic—the venue for an upcoming October event for our client.

Here, nature’s effortless beauty guides a “less is sometimes more” philosophy. We harness the trees, foliage, colors, and light to craft an exceptional backdrop.

We love hosting events in nature, immersing people in the landscape, its beauty, and its story.

When site inspections turn from incredible to jaw dropping. Dave the grounds keeper kept this up his sleeve right to the end. Nice one.

We reside on Guringai land and this magic is 15 minutes from our office. 15 minutes. The magic and wonder of this land keeps unfolding and showing us new layers of glory. When our work can also entail a family adventure makes it a double whammy of excellentness.

We are looking forward to creating magic here, hopefully soon.

The Pitchfork.

Where the seeds were sown to create purposeful experiences connecting community and place.

A dining series that led us all over the Northern Territory connecting with farmers. A truly life enriching experience. Sitting under mango trees having cups of tea and a yarn with Mark telling his story, sharing their struggles farming in the NT. Driving off the freeway into the bush in Andrew’s Troopy to a small opening where he had his hives, bees travelling across the native bushland collecting the sweetest nectars from local farms of Paw Paw, Rock Melon, watermelons and lemons. And touring Anthony’s farm who produced the most incredible heirloom tomatoes that we ate straight from the patch with juice running down our arms. The stories told and shared we will cherish forever.

Our warehouse-turned-dining venue in Darwin’s Industrial Estate hosted this event over four days. Nothing was here, a shell. A restaurant created from the ground up (massive shout out to ). Bringing farmers and producers together to share stories and enjoy a meal made from local produce, celebrating the essence of the Northern Territory. This magical experience was spearheaded by the inspiring Duncan Welgemoed ()

This beautiful human and her exceptional partner living on Guringai Country not far from us. You may have seen their exceptional shots of the last Good Gathering that we keep gushing over and over and over.

Recently Kitti was interviewed by about their home, life and their favourites bits in the coastal bit of country. Very very kindly a shout out was given to Good Gathering. Ooo, we were bowled over and overwhelmed with the kind worlds given. Thank you so much, it means the world for a small business like ours doing things for good.

We are deep in planning mode for the next one, and hopefully the next few after that. If you want to know when we launch our new dates sign up to our newsletter.
