2023 Buckingham Christmas Parade

Hello Buckingham!

The annual Buckingham Christmas Parade is a few days away and we just wanted to send out a reminder for participants 🎄& spectators 🎅🏻!

Parade Date: 12/23/2023 Start time: 6:30pm

🎄Participants🎄:
🎄Line up you must take Stratton or Laurelwood to Hyde Park to Higgins to get in line to participate.
🎄DO NOT TRY AND TAKE HIGGINS TO LINE UP there are to many family’s lined up for you safely to pass and turn around to get in line.
🎄Make sure to have vehicle decorated with lights!
🎄Make sure to have candy to toss to the spectators, please toss as the candy hurts when being thrown full force!
🎄There is not a sign up just follow instructions on the attached map/route.
🎄Do not pass and/or speed by the participant infront of you!
🎄If someone breaks down please offer help or safely go around them to continue flow if you’re not able to help them.
🎄Please do not hold up participants if you stop at the corner store (even though we ask that you don’t) make sure to pull off to the side of you choose to get out of line so others can continue the parade route in its entirety.
🎄Please make sure to follow the route in its entirety ending at Higgins & Kittyhawk.
🎄Have a good time but be safe!

🎅🏻Spectators 🎅🏻:
🎅🏻please make sure you sit off the side of the road a safe distance so participants can safely pass by and turn when needed.
🎅🏻Keep all children & adults 🙄 out of the road while parade is going by you.
🎅🏻Please keep the area you sit at clean and take any trash with you when you leave the area.
🎅🏻Suggestion: Have a baby/Kiddy Pool or large umbrella turned upside down for participants to toss the candy into so your kids don’t run into the road to grab the candy. (We seen these two items last year and thought it was a great idea so we wanted to share)!
🎅🏻Please wait until all participants go by before trying to leave the area. If you have to travel down cemetery rd to leave the area you will have a long wait (Approximately 2hrs) you may want to use the Lehigh Acres cut through, as trying to pass the parade participants is strongly discouraged as cemetery rd will be down to one lane only and that is heading East only.

We want everyone to enjoy and have fun but safety is a priority as well!

Please note that we will try to reply to all comments up to the day of the parade as parade day is very busy and we may not be able to respond.

Good Afternoon it's gonna be chilly for the parade this Saturday!

We wanted to get on here and remind you this is a Christmas Parade so please make sure you have more than 1 strand of lights on your vehicle, trailer, buggy, sxs, etc. and have candy to toss to the spectators.

If you are coming to participate make sure you do the above with the lights and candy but you MUST also go down Laurelwood or Stratton to Hyde Park to Higgins to get in line, don't be an as**at and try to head north on Higgins to line up there are participants standing by what they are driving in the parade.

There will be an orange cone that says start, that is where you start to line up, it's not at the stop sign.

Good Morning Buckingham Residents and
Merry Christmas 🎅🤶🌲 ⛄🦌

Our annual Christmas Parade is next Saturday 12/17/22 @ 6:30pm.

Safety is priority remember there are little kids & adults standing on the ground waiting to catch candy the following is very important information!

Participants need to take laurelwood or Stratton to Hyde Park and follow to Higgins to line up, do not try and go north on Higgins to line up because you will have to find somewhere to turn around.... Follow directions make it easy! If you need parking for your trailer you will have to find a spot on any of the roads and park at your own risk.

Spectators can sit anywhere from the kittyhawk and laurelwood intersection down kittyhawk to Stratton to cemetery to skates to end of cemetery Rd. This is also at your own risk.

Participants:
1.Do not weave in and out of line.
2. Do not pass or try to jump infront of someone.
3. If someone breaks down please try to assist if you can but wave the rest of the parade around you!
4. Make sure to enjoy yourselves but be cautious for the spectators.
5. Do not throw your trash out, keep it with you we don't want the neighborhood to have to clean up because of trash being all over.

Spectators:
1. Park far enough back to where your children can stand on the grass and not the road.
2. Keep your children back and not to run infront of a moving vehicle to get candy, there will be plenty.
3. Have fun and make sure to clean up after yourself.
