There was a lilac tree in my neighborhood in my 20s. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It was always in bloom around Mother's Day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I was broke.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀.. But in order to get some blooms for mom's day, I would sneak out in the wee hours, a pair of snips hidden in my coat, and cut it for Mom. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'd quickly tuck the blooms under my coat and book it home- head down. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
