For those that knew Brent and his parents, Eldred & Joyce Classen, you should know that with their passing, they left all to charity.
As the last family member surviving, Eldred continued donating annually to the BC SPCA Nanaimo on behalf of Joyce, and to the BC Forest Discovery Centre on behalf of Brent. An endowment fund was also set up in Brent’s name to fund students in theatre technical at Vancouver Island University.with Eldred passing, the estate went to help 3 charities to be used on Vancouver Island.
$400,000 went to Nanaimo Hospital Foundation and fund the ‘Classen Peri operative Centre’
$400,000 went to Heart and Stroke
$400,000 went to Diabetes Canada. All were using the funds to benefit services in the Nanaimo Region.
The family will be missed, but always remembered for all they gave in their community.
