Dare I say it—chrysanthemum season is the best part of November…?!

These beauties were all grown in St. Louis by our friend . I had to snag some when I was in town last week!

It’s true that seasonal flowers make our hearts sing over and over again. Very few things bring me such unabashed joy that locally grown flowers do. And chrysanthemums make me gasp each year without fail. I consider myself extremely lucky to get to surround myself and craft with this kind of natural beauty.

We planted a few wonderful varieties this spring, but now I’m thinking we need gobs more. They can be cheerful, bold, quintessentially autumnal, and everything in between.

Pinky lavender, touches of yellow, and coral are a bit nontraditional for this time of year, but so appreciated before we jump into the holiday season.

Do heirloom chrysanthemums excite you too?

H O L I D A Y S E A S O N 📣

✨ Our annual paperwhite collection is arriving soon to our website! We are offering centerpieces in a variety of vintage planters and vessels. Pick-up will be available next week only—these make lovely gifts for upcoming dinner parties! Starting December 3rd, our centerpieces will be for sale in downtown Cape Girardeau at until sold out (photo from last year).

✨We have extended our wreath pre-sale window through to the end of this week. We have ribbon bow add-ons to give the prettiest finishing touch to your one-of-kind handcrafted wreath. If you have already purchased a wreath, placing a second order for just your bow is fine by us.

If you have any extra curious creatures in your house, we recommend passing on the paperwhites. They are toxic and should never be eaten.

A harvest-inspired centerpiece with the prettiest November ingredients 💛

This year I’ve been enjoying searching for flowers and foliage that carry an entire color palette in its petals and leaves. Here the chard, lisianthus and pentunias unite the yellows and greens with that unusual hint of peach.

Do you see it?

I never expected to have such wonderful English roses this late in the season.

We escaped our regularly scheduled first hard frost back in mid-October and since then I’ve seen scabiosa, foxglove, Japanese anemone all in bloom. Zinnias are now gracefully exiting, but the pollinators have been all over them. We were even visited by a monarch this week and it was magical!

If you are craving a bit of sunshine in the form of flowers, we will have limited heirloom mum bouquets (in yellow hues) available next week. Comment below or message us if you want to reserve one!

Friends, some of you are already thinking about your winter wreaths and that makes me smile so much!

I don’t mean to rush anyone—because I’m truly relishing these glorious fall leaves and colors—but if you have December on the brain, I wanted to share that our pre-orders for wreaths are now online.

We have two sizes and some different styles available…if you have any special requests, we will do our best to accommodate them!

Ribbon add-on options to come 🎀

I’m unsure if we will have any ready-made wreaths this year after we finish handcrafting these, so if you absolutely want a CLEMENTINE wreath, secure it with a pre-order🌲

And just like that…our first frost ❄️

While things did get touched with the cold—like the foxgloves that look so pretty with frosted edges—we didn’t have a hard freeze. So great because I’m simply not ready to say goodbye to gardening season just yet.

Our roses, for example, are just about the prettiest and healthiest they’ve looked all year. Our aromatic asters are huge and mounding and the most delightful shade of bright lavender. And let’s not forget about the boxes and boxes piling up full of BULBS.

But alas, whether it’s tomorrow or two weeks from now, winter is inevitable. And pretties like these autumn hydrangeas in antique tones will be center stage for our last design projects of 2024.

Psst—pop over to our page for a note about our paperwhite offerings.

Hello! Did you get your first frost of the season? A few corners of our garden are sparkling with frosted edges, which is the best reminder for the following announcement:

**If you wish to use a vessel from a previous paperwhite purchase, please let me know asap so we can reserve bulbs for you.**

Yes, we are offering paperwhites again this year—it’s one of our favorite ways to bring our love of fresh flowers into the home for the winter months. Email, text or comment below to let us know if you wish to partake in this offer.

“Can you believe a year ago today we were…”

In my family, it seems like we are always counting. Forward and backward. Remembering. Recounting milestones big and small. Retelling stories again and again.

It’s a funny thing to realize, because we get to revisit the “big things” many times over, like time travelers. Three weeks, two months, one year—it doesn’t matter the amount of time that has passed. We are whisked away on a memory.

I just said last week, one year ago we were having the final walkthrough at the A.C. Brase Arena for Amanda and David’s wedding. The district fair was being set up, as we navigated the crowded grounds—all our planning nearing its end!

Soon these two will celebrate their one year anniversary and we will get to relive the spectacular celebration once more…

Here’s a few favorite portraits from their wedding day, featuring Amanda’s garden-inspired bouquet.

Happy Monday! How are you doing? What’s filling your cup these days?

I am excited to be cleaning up the bearded Iris beds this week and I cannot believe it’s already time to divide the rhizomes since our mass planting in September 2021. When I first planted them, “three to five years” seemed so far off! It’s been a real treat having them in the garden since then.

I’ve also been giving our English garden roses some much needed attention lately.

Next in my task list is to continue weeding EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE 😅 This weather is making it easy to stay outside for hours and hours.

Here’s to all the beauty yet to come!
