The Maui event community needs your support more than ever!
Although West Maui is closed to allow for grieving, healing and support, the North, South and East sides of the island are open and welcome your business.
Many small businesses depend on weddings, events and the visitors they bring, and that hasn’t changed with the current situation. Weddings and events support local families and businesses by creating jobs in the community and generating much-needed revenue.
We understand that there are mixed messages and it can be confusing but please know that the majority of the small businesses and families on Maui are asking for your support and that means keeping your current wedding, event and travel plans.
If you are unsure how your local vendors feel you can reach out to them directly or through your wedding planner. Most have been sharing their thoughts on social media.
When you do visit please, come with Aloha. Remember that the island still grieves this tragedy and all who were lost.
In lieu of gifts, consider asking your guests to donate to one of the organizations to assist those that have been affected by the fires.
And remember to please stay away from the West side out of respect for its residents and relief workers. Driving or sailing past Maalaea Harbor is unnecessary at this time.
Me Ke Aloha.
