As we our approaching our Gala Ball, and the ticket sales deadline of 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, I feel it’s fitting to share this moving campaign that launched yesterday. This campaign is ran by another mental health charity which has displayed balloons in Westfield in recognition of all the people over the last decade who have taken their own lives because of their mental health.
Mental health isn’t just defined by su***de, it can be as little as struggling to get out of bed in the morning, finding yourself crying everyday, or even just being anxious about going into work and sitting in an office all day. But if things escalate and help isn’t readily available, some people feel they are left with no option but to give up the fight.
This is the reality for many families nowadays. The ages on the balloons show the variety of people mental health is overtaking. Kids with lives ahead of them but have lost all joy in everyday things, or adults with families that life becomes too much. Our priority with our Gala Ball is to get the name out there about these 2 amazing charities we are raising money for.
We have so many amazing things planned for the raffle and auction and can’t wait to see how much we can raise together. But our main priority is minimising the amount of balloons needing to be displayed, advertising help is available and there are people waiting to free the burdens that take over peoples lives.
So all we ask, is share this with friends and family, work colleagues, neighbours, come together for the evening of our Gala Ball, fill the room with a desire of wanting to make a difference and love shown for people who have experienced mental health struggles within themselves or a family member or sadly lost someone to it.
