Over the last 5 years, wildfires have really impacted us personally and the people we know. Ever since our very close encounter of fires approaching our home in 2019, we’ve found a much deeper and greater appreciation for firefighters and all first responders!

🌎💫🙌 I have updated my charities for 2025! This year we will continue to donate $5 of every session to charity: water because I really admire the kind of work they're doing over there and their level of integrity in what they do.

For my second charity, I've given it a lot of thought. I wanted something that was more local to me where I can physically see the impact your dollars are going to. I also wanted it to be helping kids, families, and others with their basic needs.

With the crazy amount of over consumption in our current society (I fall victim to this as well), I wanted to remind myself that there are so many people in need of just the basics. And if we have the means to give even just a little, we can spread our resources and love to others. A little goes a long way.

💫 So, I am so proud to add a local food bank, Feeding America Riverside and San Bernardino, to our 2025 charity.

🙏 I hope you will join me in this mission. To bring clean water to those in need (see photo of the impact Charity Water is making), and bring nutritious food to people who are our neighbors. $10 of your session will be donated to both organizations, split in half.

I noticed after having my first child, I was getting more intense cramping than my usual. The cramping increased over a long period of time, for about 4 years.

Then in mid 2023, I started noticing additional symptoms during my cycle. Symptoms like increased irritability, fatigue, increased back pain, increased cramp (even more so than after birth).

The cramping got so intense that pain meds didn’t do anything to alleviate the pain. It got so bad that I couldn’t move from laying down during my cycle. Although the severe cramping would only last for about 3 days, it was ongoing with no breaks.

I had that severe pain during my cycle for months. And I knew something wasn’t right. So, I scheduled an ultrasound to get it checked out. Finally, I found answers to my symptoms.

I was diagnosed with adenomyosis along with some cysts. For some women, there are no symptoms. For others, symptoms can be similar to endometriosis. I was others.

My doctor said there is no *cure* for this. It’s a progressive condition that will continue to worsen over time until menopause. There are some options to help manage the symptoms so it doesn’t affect my day to day quality of life.

Here were the options she gave me for treating the symptoms.

1. Do nothing
2. IUD (progesterone)
3. UAE - Uterine artery embolisation
4. Take the uterus out - hysterectomy

To this day, I still opt to *do nothing*.

But I’ve done a lot since to help manage my pain.

Here are the things that has helped me.

1. Exercise consistently and add movement to my day
2. Changing my diet to an adenomyosis diet (similar to Mediterranean diet)
3. Cut out as much sugar, caffeine, and gluten as I can
4. Rest (a lot) without guilt

I went in for my routine check up recently and they found fibroids which probably contributed to my cramping during 1.5-2 weeks after my period. Which means I’m cramping for about 2-3 weeks every month.

The fluctuations in my hormones affected my anxiety greatly as well. But that’s a story for another time.

The point of all of this is this.

Fibroids are common.

Adenomyosis and endometriosis are common.

If you are experiencing pain that is more or different from before, please go see your doctor and find answers so that you have OPTIONS. *Knowing* gives us choices.

It’s been awhile and I want to introduce myself to my new friends. Thank you so much for being here, by the way. There is a ton of talented, beautiful people on this platform and the fact that you chose to follow me and my journey is a huge privilege. So, thank you.

My name is Georgia. I am half Chinese and half Japanese. I 💯 identify as Chinese culturally. I was raised by an incredibly strong, smart, resilient single mother who is also my idol. I’ve said in the past that I don’t have idols but I lied. My mom is my idol.

Here on my account, you can expect to see everything that is me. The life & health struggles/healing I’ve done with anxiety, adenomyosis, premenopause as well as things that bring me joy (family, Disney, home care, reading, cats, fitness).

It won’t be an account strictly for my work in photography because it just gets so boring, and I am so much more than that. (YOU are also so much more than your work)

Now speaking of work 🙂

I’ve gone through quite a few careers and businesses in my life. But the one that stuck around for a decade and a half is this- my photography. I still find joy in photography (especially after figuring out how to make this business work with my life right now). Moreover, I love what I can bring to others.

I see value in photos for less egotistical reasons now, rather for what it means to the people I love most. It’s a way to preserve memories and time- both of which are limited resources.

I love working with humans (that sounds weird lol), but it has been the one constant draw to photography for me. I love capturing people, emotions and behavior. My background in education and behavioral therapy lends a gentle and patient hand to all families.

I hope to have the opportunity to serve you.
