It was 18 years ago when our country and its people were forever changed. Tuesday, September 11, 2001 shocked not only the USA but the rest of the world.

At 8:46am, AA Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower of the WTC. 17 minutes later at 9:03am, hijackers aboard UA Flight 175 crashes into the South Tower. Then at 9:37 am, AA Flight 77 from Texas crashes into the Pentagon. The fourth plane, UA Flight 93 crashes in a field in Somerset County Pennsylvania.

967 people aboard those 4 flights lost their lives. Not to mention the countless thousands upon thousands more lives on the ground of all the emergency personnel, rescue workers and innocent bystanders. And don't forget our furry companions who worked tireless beside their human handlers to rescue the people inside the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

Take a moment today to reflect and remember. Don't let our younger generations go through their lives without knowing the heartache and anguish our country suffered. Our country is still healing - we need to come together, EVERYONE.
