BREAKING: SHOCKING REVELATION! —FBI Director Kash Patel hired Dan Bongino without his deputy passing a standard background check.
If you thought the Trump–Patel takeover of the FBI couldn’t get any more corrupt, buckle up — because this week’s bombshell reveals the real national security threat isn’t coming from abroad. It’s coming from inside the Hoover Building.
ProPublica just uncovered that FBI Director Kash Patel — Trump’s loyalty-obsessed enforcer who has spent the past year purging career agents like they were political enemies — quietly handed out polygraph waivers to Dan Bongino and two other handpicked loyalists. That’s right: the same Dan Bongino who built an empire spewing election conspiracies on Trumpworld talk radio is now the FBI’s Deputy Director — without actually passing the FBI’s most basic security vetting.
Let that sink in. The man who once ranted that the FBI was part of a deep-state coup now wakes up each morning with access to the President’s Daily Brief — some of the most sensitive secrets America owns — despite experts calling his ascent unprecedented and a “holy crap” moment for anyone who cares about national security.
This isn’t cutting corners. This is bulldozing the entire vetting process that every career FBI agent has undergone for decades — all so Patel can pack the seventh floor with Trump loyalists whose main qualification seems to be their willingness to burn the rulebook while saluting Trump.
And Bongino isn’t the only red flag Patel smuggled into the command structure. There’s Marshall Yates, whose previous gig was leading a group that tried to overturn the 2020 election, now installed as the FBI’s liaison to Congress. And Nicole Rucker — Patel’s personal assistant, a former Stephen Miller aide, and apparently Patel’s shadow on sensitive foreign trips — who waltzed into the director’s suite before she even had clearance, escorted daily by a Security Division official whose job was to prevent this exact kind of breach.
Former FBI officials are openly stunned. Some say that in their entire careers, they never saw a senior official fail a polygraph and still walk away with clearance. Yet Patel granted three such waivers like they were parking passes.
And here’s the part that really reeks: an FBI employee has already filed an internal complaint warning that these waivers may have broken the rules designed to keep spies and grifters away from classified material. A separate complaint went to the DOJ Inspector General. Congress asked Patel about it under oath — and he essentially shrugged and said, “I’ll get back to you.”
Spoiler: he didn’t.
Meanwhile, the Trump–Patel regime has been firing career FBI agents by the dozens, often after subjecting them to loyalty interrogations and, unbelievably, polygraph questions about whether they’ve said anything negative about Patel. Not about espionage. Not about foreign contacts. About Kash Patel’s feelings.
This is not a law enforcement agency. It’s a purge machine.
Trump replaced expertise with sycophants. Patel replaced security protocols with political waivers. And Bongino — a pundit with a persecution complex — now sits atop an intelligence pipeline he once attacked on-air.
Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin said it best: How did they survive?
The truth is simple, infuriating, and dangerous: They survived because loyalty to Trump has replaced loyalty to the country. And every day, they’re turning the FBI into a weapon — not against threats to America, but against anyone who gets in their way.
