BREAKING: Donald Trump gets nightmare news about his Nobel Peace Prize fantasy as a brutal report reveals that his "naked hunger" for the award is decimating his chances of actually winning it.

This is as hilarious as it is pathetic...

“Trump maintains he is not politicking for the prize, which he has mentioned publicly every few weeks since reclaiming the Oval Office — a habit people familiar with the award warned could hurt his chances," reported Michael Birnbaum and Dan Diamond for the Washington Post.

According to their report, the betting markets are tilted heavily against Trump receiving the coveted honor, which is slated to be announced tomorrow. Trump has whined that "perhaps they’ll find a reason not to give it to me" and insisted that he wants it for the country, not for himself. In reality, he's just desperate for the award because Barack Obama won it and he hates being bested by our first black president.

Trump has claimed that if he doesn't win, it will be a "big insult to our country." More accurately, it will be a big insult to his inflated ego.

"Trump’s not-a-campaign campaign has little precedent in the subdued world of Nobel peace picks, where five Norwegians appointed by their country’s parliament meet in conclave for months of studious deliberation," the Post reported. "Winners almost never campaign publicly — and few lobby privately, according to people familiar with Nobel history. His public interest in the award could backfire, according to a person familiar with the operations of the prize."

“The pressure from Trump is rather extraordinary and comes across not least as remarkably self-centered. That rhetoric and his whole approach must be said to collide quite dramatically with the traditions of the prize, even if that in itself may not be disqualifying,” revealed one person familiar with inner workings of the prize.

Nina Graeger, director of the Peace Research Institute Oslo, said that his organization, which compiles a short list of expected winners for the prize, did not include Trump's name as a likely receipient. He referred to the pressure campaign as "unprecedented" and "very unusual.”

Trump has reportedly been aggressively driving for a ceasefire in Gaza this week, not out of any concern for the lives being lost, but because he thinks it'll help his Nobel chances. While Graeger conceded it might help, she said that the committee will also "look at whatever else he’s doing in the world, but at least they would have to consider him.”

Even a cursory glance at Trump's foreign policy renders the idea of him receiving the Nobel Peace Prize absurd. He illegally bombed Iran, bringing the world close to the brink of World War 3 and is now carrying out illegal, murderous strikes on boats in the Caribbean. In Africa, his dismantling of USAID will lead to suffering and death of untold millions. Giving him this award would be a disgrace.
