On Tuesday evening, the National Concierge Association - Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area Chapter held an Inauguration for its new Board of Directors and new President, Yolanda Johnson Nelson!

It is an honor to be reelected as Director of Administration. Serving the board and chapter members has been a delight. It has stretched me as a person and my creativity to elevate each touch point in the membership experience. I am so excited for our next!

A few weeks ago, I celebrated another birthday with a trip to see the sunrise.
That morning I set out to a place I had never been and intentionally changed the route option to avoid tolls to enjoy the scenery.

All is going well, and I am almost at my destination, and suddenly the GPS stops working. What?!

What do you do when you come to a bend in your plans? As I reflected and wrote about this day, I realized the path is not always predictable. Every detail counts. Starting with the handpicked elegant white porcelain with gold beaded rim tray, to the taste, texture, and color of the macarons and choice of vendor.

This styled shoot was playful, full of color, and called for a dessert to match. I chose my local bakery, The Dessert Ju**ie, and the macarons were absolutely delectable!

One of my favorite things about designing events is incorporating special touches throughout the day to make the event really shine.

In this case, the texture of the linen required the delicate and sophisticated keepsake place card, thoughtfully chosen and handcrafted to compliment the place setting and make the occasion even more meaningful.
