Soft and subtle with a glimmer of sunshine is how this week’s designers choice bouquet emerged. She feels hopeful so quite aptly, I’ve named her ‘Hope’.
If you ask me, this is simply the perfect sympathy bunch 🫶🏼✨
A coupe of beautiful flowering foliages inspired me this week: Spirea and Eriostomon (or Blushing Bride). Both have a show of the daintiest little white flowers which I just love. 😍
They’ve sprung into bloom perfectly timed for the start of wedding season, and I look forward to designing with them for this purpose next weekend. 👰🏻🤵🏻
Other flowers featured in this design are: Delphinium, Snapdragon, Alstromeria, Carnation, Chrysanthemum, Crenulata, Magnoila leaf, Cooper Glow.

If you’re a bride-to-be, and proteas are a must have for your bridal bouquets, then think Autumn or Winter wedding. 🗓️
Designing with these ‘natives’ (not actually native to Aus), is my jam! I LOVE everything about them, but as with most flowers, they have their season. 😬
I’ll often get enquires for these blooms for summer weddings, but it’s a ‘no-can-do’ (usually).🙅🏻♀️
There are lots of other (actual Aussie) natives we can use in the warmer months, but it’s unlikely we’ll see proteas … unless they’re King proteas that is. 🤷🏻♀️
It can all be a little confusing 😵💫, but you don’t have to worry, that’s my job! As a wedding floral designer I live and breathe seasonal flowers, so I’ve got you covered. 👍💐

What a blessing it was to create some floral beauty at the baby shower to welcome my 1st grandchild 🙏🏼🥰
The design brief from mum-to-be Chloe, was light and airy with baby’s breath and dainty pink flowers.
I think I nailed it 👍🌸
I chose an eclectic mix of pink, white and glass vases that worked really well strategically placed in and outside of the house. The flowers outside held up really well considering the 39 degrees (I think a mid-arvo water change helped keep them cool and refreshed) 🙏🏼🤗

Foraging is my favourite way to create, and you can do it to!🍃🌼
In this beautiful native bunch, there are 4 elements I use from just the one plant - a beautiful flowering gum: the leaves, the flower buds, the flowers and the gum nuts. What an amazing plant! 🙏🏼😍
Rules to remember when foraging:
✅ have respectful intentions before you start
✅ only forage where you have permission or from public land (eg roadside)
✅ only take what you can use
✅ ALWAYS use snips - please don’t snap or tear the stems 😭
✅ always cut at a growth point, even if that means you cut longer stems than you need
✅ always thank the plant 🙏🏼
