“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds”
These famous words for postmen like my Dad, has been my reality as wedding officiant this Christmas. One wedding was in snow, and this beautiful couple braved a cold rain. Daniel & his lovely Hui Qui said their vows in cold rain. They have their “love to keep them warm,” to paraphrase the song, and it is amazing how often I see how the love and adrenaline does just that. And rain is a blessing of its own.
We had some cover and I am certain that Kathy got some magical images in the mist.
Wishing this loving union of Spain and Malaysia, many happy years together here in the US and wherever life takes them

On the last day of the year, and I get a review like this, from the Mother of the Bride, I must take a moment to say thanks.
This is what I strive for as a professional officiant, making everyone feel safe and focused on what really matters.

Leading the ceremony, you got the couple to do the talking. Your questionnaire teased out an amazing amount about what each one loves about the other.
There was a technical hitch with the music,[for the procession] you kept [the groom] steady, the atmosphere relaxed, and you went to tell the waiting bride what was going on.
On a personal note, I thought your outfit was demure, conveyed authority and had a playful, subtle sparkle on your matching boots!”

Salmagundi Club. A first as a for me, and hopefully not the only time.
Beautiful, great team it was perfect for a small ceremony as we had on Dec, and being in the history of this house made it even more special
Leaving in the darkness of night and seeing the red Christmas lights, alternating white for the Hannukkkah lights, of the Empire State Building was one of those wonderful “New York moments” 💖⭐️

Salmagundi is a not-for-profit organization created in 1871, by artists and patrons, to support one another and to encourage the advancement of art of all kinds.

The Club has continuously championed representational art from its founding with iconic members, including: Thomas Moran (1837-1926), William Merritt Chase (1849-1916), Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933), Emil Carlsen (1848-1932), N.C. Wyeth (1882-1945), Childe Hassam (1859-1935) and Winston Churchill (1874-1965).

Sometimes you just have to cuddle up with the flower girl, she also doubled as the vocalist, singing her song through most of the ceremony. Aouwwww!!🎶🐶

The bride braved the cold after the ceremony in order to get a few pics in her beautiful dress. Their witness, and I,snapping away witn our fingers stuff with cold. Whilst this image was snapped by my brand new husband, who sat in the warmth of the car the rest of the time.
I just adore these slightly nutty moments that happen in the midst of love - the laughter mixed with yelps of cold was the sound scape of the day 😄💍💖

A wedding bouquet can be such an important part of a ceremony. I remember the sadness of not having any flowers for my first wedding. “Love is better the second time aroumd” states the song and when you have a soul sister who gifts you her art, and truly “gets” the idea of color scheme you want perfectly - then you have to make a small still leben with the bouquet and our clothing …

The ring vows, an exquisite part of the ceremony. The thought that has gone into these circles of love, to match, to show personality, large, small, modern, vintage. I always say some sort of blessing, or explanation of the symbolism of the ring before the exchange which can be very sweet and a also cause a giggle, since suddenly left and right gets confusing🥰 The brain is often a bit jumbled from emotions at this point, so I gently whisper to help get the ring where it should be. 💍🌹
This was a on a beautiful and warm autumn day in New York
The couple has asked to be off social media for the time being.

Raindrops keep falling on my head …🎶
The weather forecast played games, it looked like we would be dry if we waited an hour more, but the opposite was true. Ladies Pavilion seemed very small, with family & guests trying to fit with the elaborate large prints, one an artwork made by the bride, which on a sunny day would have looks fantastic outside. The photographer & videographer worked wonders covered in plastic bags and holding umbrellas. All this taken into account, it is one of the loveliest I’ve officiated. The love between the couple, and how they were surrounded by warmth from their loved ones made the sun shine energetically. And with pros, the official photos I’ve seen are stunning and magical. These are all with my mobile.
“A little rain is good luck”, Lorraine & Dinglun, you will have a lifetime of luck with all these drops !! Congratulations! ❤️💍

When the going gets tough …
It’s not the first time I’ve seen a , or videographer in this case, have to cover the camera in plastic, but it was the first when he was also wrapped in it !
It was pouring down, but nothing could dampen (!!) the joy of today’s Chinese couple and their family and friends. What a set up they brought, including a portrait made by the art student bride.

on September 19, 2019, I had the honor of marrying lovely Nathalie & Nicklas in the chapel like
we were also gifted with a special arrangements of N&N’s favorites music selections Eleanor Dubinsky & Lucas, Matt. I will forever remember the cutest flower girl the couples daughter who completely melted my heart. The family has been blessed with the sun. This day will forever stay in my heart for so many reasons. Wishing you a happy anniversary and many more to come.

Wagner Cove in Central Park has been a favorite wedding spot since I started officiating 10+ years ago. It’s been the place of many firsts- my two first weddings ever, the first same s*x, and so many wonderful memories made in this cute little boat landing. We often see the white egret flying by, I’ve had a snapping turtle 🐢 saying hello and often there is music heard from across the water, and people in the row it’s cheering at the sight of the kiss! It’s nice because it’s right in the middle but still quite private. I strongly recommend a permit, especially for the weekends.
Permits are now available for 2025.

When the wedding officiant chooses to have a Commitment ceremony to celebrate with a family member who cannot travel, she takes the role of “bride”, event planner, celebrant, photographer (remote control), florist & caterer.
The venue couldn’t have been more perfect by the lovely Foster Pond, sun shining from a clear blue sky, the Loon serenading and at sunset, the coyotes howling. I answered them and they responded!! A dragonfly who was in distress, having been trapped inside porch took my invitation to rest on my hand, calmly stepped up and sat there for 5 minutes, polishing its head until a lovely other dragonfly came by and they danced away together.
My bouquet consisted of symbolism, several different fragrant herbs, dahlia & sunflowers.
A legal ceremony will happen somewhere but since I love elopements we have decided to travel to have many small ceremonies and there will be a legal signing when there is Divine Time. Stay tuned. You know what I say :

A photo I have wanted to post since that day in 2020 but there were specific reasons not to. It was during the pandemic and we had a beautiful elopement on the beach. I think it’s been long enough, and I can proudly share my capture of the flying bouquet - I believe the sister recently got married so it worked!
I am available for more beach weddings, to add to the small ones in the park and the larger in grand castles and mansions. I am also busy booking 2025!

Good luck hearing anything over the gale force wind hitting the mic. Thanks to my husband I was able to make it to Verrazzano bridge where this lovely, fun and admittedly slightly crazy coupe from Ukraine met, and fell at first sight It was cold, it was crazy windy but we laughed and enjoyed, albeit a brief ceremony we still found the peaceful and calm “bubble”. Dec 6, Grand Central Terminal. I am always thrilled at how we can make a romantic “bubble” in the midst of it all (or Holiday fear, as it sounds like I’m saying 😄) The bubble breaks with joy at the kiss and some observant passersby stop and cheer, and grab a few photos (what a nice suprise & memory for them💖 ) I saw two more couples walking past us. This was sooooo much fun. Guess my acting chops still work, so my decoy as survey person had the husband buying it- until the moment my phone started playing their song (a detail I added that went over really well ) His eyes opened and he was really trying to figure out what in earth was happening. The surprise was complete and after a little bit of time for him to get his bearings we had a lovely simple ceremony. I am so thankful that the bride found me so I could be part of this very special moment. What a stunning setting and the flower arrangements in purple nuances of Irises were overwhelmingly beautiful. The rain held off for the ceremony - I believe by the unison call by the guests, promoted by yours truly, “rain, rain, go away”.
