I received some incredible mail yesterday! Amaryllis seed from these little jewels will grown into amazing blooms in only 3-6 years…. I planted them right up, some already had little roots starting! On the heat mats in the sunroom they go. Eleanore the corgi, always the faithful inspector of my work. These have an inspiring back story. See for the info. I’m so excited to see them grow!

Almost finished putting the dahlias to bed for the winter. Yes, I’m leaving them in the ground! My mom has left hers for the last three years and not lost any! So I’m using her method. Chop and drop the stems in place, pile on the leaves, tarp it all to keep out too much moisture and hold the leaves in place. 🙏🏼🤞🏻Follow and Ill let you all know in the spring how it turns out!

Golden fall tones today This week will wrap up the season for flowers with a final market .gathered.home.on.front on Saturday. Come see us! Even if we haven’t had frost, it will be time to focus on collecting seeds, flagging the important dahlias to dig, identifying a few unknowns and getting the garden ready for winter rest and planting some cool season flowers! Already thinking about next year.
