Our sincere and heart felt apologies to anyone who turned up for this months Jam Night this evening (Thurs)

Unfortunately our resident organiser/sound engineer/guitarist “forgot” we had this booked in (3rd Thursday of the month, every month, for over 4 years) so we we couldn’t put on the Jam Night we had advertised. So sorry.

Unfortunately it’s indicative of the lack of support and enthusiasm we have had in our recent Jam Nights and so it’s with an incredibly heavy heart we find ourselves in the position where we will be “pulling the plug” on them as we go forward.

We have had some brilliant nights over the last 5 years or so from the early bi-weekly “Curry and Jam” nights to the more recent version of our Jams.

We’ve seen the emergence of new talent, especially Drummer Sammy who first started joining us when he was 12/13 years old and now at 15 he has joined one of Thanet’s new and most popular cover bands , PennySpent!
What a brilliant young musician!

We’ve seen the formation of new bands as people have found some musical common ground with each other and decided to play together more regularly. The best example of this was the start of one of our favourite bands - “Bit On The Side”…
(We were let down (through ill health) by a band for Boxing Day a couple of years ago. I received the call during the December Jam. We were aware that finding a decent alternative to play Boxing Day with less than two weeks notice was going to be really tricky - but the jammers came to the rescue…they volunteered to jump in. Called themselves “The Kranks” and gave us an incredible Boxing Day Party that everyone enjoyed. So much so they decided to carry on gigging together. A less seasonal name change and voila….”Bit On The Side” was born!)

Amazing time. Incredible memories.

But unfortunately the nights have become less and less supported. This could be due to too much local competition - which is fantastic for the lovely music scene we are so proud to be part of but when we started we were the only Jam night in Ramsgate, now there are several, or maybe peoples finances mean midweek nights out are not as essential as they once were…?! Who knows?
For whatever reason, we are very aware all good things must come to an end.

We want to thank all of you who Jammed with us and joined in with the Jam nights over the years - especially James, Chris, Matt and Simon who would always be here to set up and get the ball rolling 🙏
