They made it to Poland! We did it everyone! They're out of the war zone and had to take a train from Kyiv to the Polish border in complete darkness to avoid being seen by Russian troops. Terrifying since they were shelling trains yesterday.
Now, it will be a very long journey to Warsaw, them Gdansk, then to Oslo! I'll keep posting updates as we still have donations coming in to help them get settled in Norway until this insipid war is over.

They just sent this to me about an hour ago. Syuzanna looks stylish in her glasses but I'm sure it was from the recent tears for having to leave Grandma and their pet guinea pig behind. Another posting will follow soon. Send all the good thoughts for safety during their travels to Lviv and then on to Poland. Iryna received all the money from you guys just this morning - $3200 and there's more to come! She's feeling better knowing there's so much love coming their way from Maine and others in the U.S.
